Cast your shadow

i didn't realize that shadow knives were my favorite pattern until i saw this thread. i didn't know the definition. thanks much for starting the thread.

i've had a couple sodbusters over the years, but they are not with me any longer.

i currently only have the EKA Swede 10 (and really like it). while it may not fit everyones' definition of "traditional", it fits mine! :D so here it is....

Here's a nice shadow - exhibition-grade Buffalo Horn!

Remarkable! Looks like the horn was cut on the bias to give that effect, lovely colour too. Highly unusual pattern, looks like a Seahorse with an awl/spike. Sunk-joints too I suspect.....

Here's another European, this time from Spain. Modest knife but I like the simplicity and leaf blade.

Yea Charles,Jack casts a long shadow ,of course he has a 4 hour head start from here.

My contributions,both Schrade farmers jacks.

The black fibestous(rehandled ,but unused,as this material did not hold up) being the only double spring farmers jack I know of. They both have extra thick liners and extra handle pins, which are larger than the usual. The Fibestos (S7309F) also has modified wharncliffe pruning blade (similar to a peach pruner) and spey, with spud(called a bark loosener).

They are described in this cut from Schrade catalog E 1936 supplement, pg 100. This is the first Schrade listing of these 2 knives and the Schrade listing of the one I call a rooster comb (S7303).
