Shadow by Moki

Never handled a Moki shadow. Which model is it? The small Fish Owl? Bolsters (on many of their knives) are the main thing that's kept me away from getting a Moki :p
Here's my contribution to the thread

Yes Fausto, it's Moki's Fish Owl. 3 3/8" (86mm) micarta handle with 2 1/2" (64mm) Aus 8 blade.
Liner less, light, smooth action, tight lockup, sharp and with Fit and Finish second to none at a great price. You may have noticed, I like it quite a bit. Others have said it borders on custom quality and I can't argue with them. It is one fine knife and I highly recommend it!!

It's surprising the immense range of materials Shadow knives come in, including more fragile stuff such as MOP, Tortoise, Ivory. Not sure if Cell was used but I assume it must have been?

Lyle Those Shadow Farmers are particularly svelte, maybe it's time for a run of SFO 38s in Shadow:D I could lap that up:thumbup:

Jack I often use my Aitor as a travelling cook's knife, when I'm visiting people who I know have appalling crap kitchen knives.;) The blade is quite a good prep knife.

JP That Ohta is an impressive knife, he's a fine maker.

Thanks, Will

Will, you are absolutely right - that Joseph Elliot has sunk joints!
The handle was cut along the grain of the horn to emphasize the "layering" of the colors. I thought it was laminated - they did a good job! Close inspection reveals it as one piece. It displays a nice band of black outlining the light, stripey feature. The back handle is black with just a hint of grey at two places.

The second knife is an Ulster Horseman shadow pattern!

I was lucky to get it directly from mr Ohta, when he came to SICAC last september. He had a lot of knives on display, and sold quite all! This quince, D2 blade, it jumped to my eyes.

I just so happen to be carrying my favorite shadow pattern today!

Nice ones, Condor!

I guess I have a lot of shadows. Here's some more in addition to the ones I posted on the last page.

Hey Fausto,

I can't believe I didn't notice your sway back until just now. Don't suppose we could get a few more images of it? I'm enamored!
