I engaged in a trade with Bladerunner7 December 24th. The deal was I would trade him my blue Microtech Ultratech for his BNIB Spyderco Military in Cru wear. He insisted that because i have the lower feedback, I would ship first which I agreed too.
I sent my end out Dec. 26th and I received a text from him at Saturday at 4:25pm that reads "Yeah just got it. I opened the box and flicked it a couple times. Looks good. I don't think my post office is open now so it will have to wait for Monday to ship. Thank you."
He made the thread "Stiff Ultratech" (https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/stiff-ultratech.1541930/) saying that he opened my knife without my consent, before he knew he was going to keep it, and that it was too bad for me because I sent him a knife that "doesn't function as it should." He also said that it didn't matter that he voided my warranty because the only way Microtech would possibly know is if I told them that the knife was opened.
Anyone who has ever had an OTF knife would know that the action on them tends to be stiff and that anyone new to them might require a couple days for their thumb to get used to using the trigger. This was his first OTF knife and it was pointed out to him by me and several other people that the knife was completely fine, and that it was his thumb that needed to get used to the action. I, my friends, and the guy who sold it to me could all perfectly operate it one handed.
He could have very easily asked me about it before he took it apart and started to tinker with it. I only saw the thread by chance, we had no comms until I commented on the thread on Tuesday.
TLDR: unprofessional, took apart my knife before he knew he was going to keep it, didn't care that he voided the warranty because "how will they find out if I don't tell them"
