Cereal_Killer good intent, bad execution, worse communication - BEWARE

For the record, I am not drawing a line in the sand here and saying I'm on this side and Cereal_Killer is a bad guy , he has done some great things for a lot of people, I met Lionesser on Friday night to clarify and I had no Idea who she was until she mentioned her name, and I asked her a question and she said yea thats me and I introduced myself, we were at a knife shop in B'ham and anybody in the b'ham area knows the knife guy there gets about 5 of every spyderco knife made, dealer exclusive or not , and knows just about everything there is to know about Spydies and he was even baffled. For the record, Lionesser has been trying to get in touch with Cereal_killer but he wouldnt respond to her, and when I met her I offered to try to fix the knife has I had a delica that had lock issues and I fixed it , and she said give him some time and we will go from there, and she did give him a deadline before she was to post this thread, Her and myself have been in contact about this since we met, so I started a thread about the dragonfly and if they sold part kits for it , trying to fish around and see if parts could be bought for one in case I was going to work on it. Again The Op said I'm still waiting on a response from him lets hold off, so I kept my thread vague etc. Well when lionesser saw he has been online etc. and flat out ignoring her and basically some of the remarks he made in different threads thats when her deadline changed, and she brought it to light. Though Cereal_killer and myself have never done any deals (I don't think so anyway) , He has helped others out in a lot of ways , and I think he just got in over his head, that's all, I hope this doesn't turn into a witch hunt or anything like that , I would just like to see wrongs made right and everybody happy. Lionesser as well hs done many things to help out a lot of people , so I don't think we are dealing with 2 bad people here at all, I hate to repeat myself I just believe he (Cereal_killer) got in over in his head, and he's in a what should I do situation.

Even more suspicious is his wifes account name Mrs. Cereal Killer or Ms cereal killer , will talk to the OP but for details about that convo you would need to get it from the OP, but It is either Cereal_killer on his wife's account or it is his wife and the only thing I know to be said is "she was not told a thing"
 
Wow. Confusing! Walls of text from a first party, nothing from a second party, and a whole lot of third parties! Certainly hope it gets cleared up between party #1 and party #2.
 
lol, Usually we hear a rather quick synopsis of the issue and later the supporting documentation. I only understood it after Allen's post #10 ;-)
 
I couldn't make a head or tail out of OP's post.
So many info and several different knives seemed to be involved.
Good thing that Allen has met with OP to grasp the situation.
I hope the situation will be solved soon.

Indeed! Well put. If one is going to "go public" with a complaint, its nice to know what the complaint is without third parties having to try to clarify all the behind the scenes nonsense. Because I cant tell what went on.

I think I got part of this figured out. Maybe. Lionesser gave Cereal Killer 75 bucks for a knife, correct? But this deal was "offline" as far as BF is concerned, yes? It didnt happen in the exchange, right?
 
And that knife was part of another "offline" excahnge of goods and services where CK would rescale it, and Lionesser would promote CK's work in the PIF threads...

Their whole relationship was a product of Blade Forums; its genesis was the PIF thread, and she found him through Blade Forums. It would be like me listing a knife in the exchange, but pulling it down; and then you contact me and end up making a deal on the knife after the listing is already down - if I screw you over, am I clear of Blade Forums rules then? Any deal that involves two active members here should be fair game to be resolved here considering we all have the opportunity to deal with one another here, and history tends to repeat itself - this is to keep the same thing from happening twice. If you're a con everywhere besides Blade Forums, you're still a con, and it only hurts Blade Forums to suppress that information.

Besides, Cereal Killer doesn't have the permissions to sell scale jobs on the site.

It sounds like Cerealkiller is breaking Bladeforums rules and use them for business but avoid the fees associated to do so. If they had an arrangement to do what you are saying...Both are at fault here and like others have said...you do it once, more than likely it'll be done again and again.

Not taking sides. All stories have three stories to tell. Yours mine and the truth.
 
I sent a visitor message and have not heard anything yet, I sent a PM today, if that gets nothing then we'll see if we can turn it up a bit. Ignoring this isn't going to make it go away for CK
 
If your gonna ban me ban me but I'm done communicating with her, we NEVER entered any business transactions, I am not a business, I do not intend to become a business and even if I did it would take me a year to be able to afford the fees here to do so...

Further more her and I had started to develop a friendship before all this happened, as you can see from how she posted the entire dialog we've ever had I shared with her very personal and private details about me and my family that had absolutely zero to do with any dealings we had (which again wasn't a business transaction as I wasn't performing any service for her for profit). As well as postings all of these private details I shared with her in confidence in a public [and very active] forum before any of this happened she forwarded those private emailed to a third, uninvolved party.

I have nothing to say to her, she demanded the knife back as I wasn't 1/2 done with it after telling me not only was there zero time constraints but she told me "take your time, take as long as you want/need" she even went as far as to tell me to do other projects before hers so how could there be a time constraint set all the sudden?! Furthermore she sent me a knife knowing full well its warranty was going to be voided since you can't really put new scales on a knife without disassembling it. Do you ask any private individual to warranty a knife they didn't even sell you? Another point- this knife was purchased by her from amazon as an open-box item, it was never once used by me before being taken apart as it wasn't my knife to use, how does she know it wasn't broken when it was being sold be amazon for a discounted price as a used knife? Spyderco's warranty limits the warranty the the original owner when purchased new, she purchased a knife that was technically out of warranty just by the fact it was being sold as-is as a blemished item by amazon.

Another point- she claims the knife's lock is broke, it just doesn't work, that's about like saying my car doesn't stop, the brakes are broke. She flat out refuses to provide any details or pictures. Also the knife was sent back to her in the same condition I received it over a month ago now (dec 19-21, not sure when she picked it up from her PO) and it's just now broke yet she claims upon receipt she opened the knife and it was, in her words in perfect condition and had a thick coat of oil yet now at least a month later she's claiming its broke?

Again if your going to ban me go for it but just know I didn't claim to be doing this for her for money/as a business/selling her any product, she came to me and said "hey I have you this Pay it forward now I want you to do this for me", that's not in any way a pay it forwards d I wouldn't have accepted the freaking knife in the first place had I known this was a remote possible outcome. Did I mention I paid out of pocket for all the materials and asked zero anything for my time, be it cash/trade/cans of soup, so to claim I'm providing bad customer service is a crap shoot as she's not a customer of mine.

Also note her and I completed 2 non-related trade transactions during the same period with both of us leaving the other positive itrader, I have a dozen other positive transactions and positive remarks here in the GBU, I am not a bad guy, she simply can't be worked with.


Notice I didn't attack her personally or post private details she said to me? She asked me to not so much as post in public that she is a female, to call her "she" or by name yet she has no restraint making public the most intimate of details I shared with her, is that in its self not a violation of forum policy to share such private, non pertinent details in an attack on anyone, regardless of the situation.

I can only speak for myself but I would like to see the OP post some summary of her specific complaints. I do find it odd that she posted the equivalent of 3 months of text/email but does not outline the specifics. how do you know if CKs response adresses the specific issues when the OP does not make them clear at all. Perhaps it is me.

The post that Infinite Zero and yourself are referring to are the main reason I brought this forth to the forum. If communication shuts down as it did in this case over a friendly interaction -- I do not want to imagine what might befall my fellow Bladeforums members.

In exchange for promoting his services to the PIF folks. Those deals always end poorly sooner or later. Hate to say it, but if there's a silver lining its that it only involved the two original parties.
