10/10 Response about the customization in which he said he would be happy to and asked for his ease on the project for me to spring for the g10 model.

“Please don't think I'm tryin to weasel my way out of any work, I'm more than happy to help you out startin with either knife, actually I'm thrilled, I love having thinks I make out in other people's hands and I of course feel like I owe you something on top of that, so if the H1 blade is important, or you just can't swing the G10 version to start with we'll make an FRN one work. Think of it like this- startin with a G10 dfly I'm basically just making a pair of scales and turning a couple screws to install them, if we start with a one-piece dfly I'll have to pretty much build a new handle from scratch and find hardware to fit but it can be done." C_K -- see OP for full details.

“Hey Lionesser just letting you know the dragonfly has arrived, its in great shape and is obviously new but the box is pretty bad. Nothing wrong with it, just hoping you knew it was open box..." C_K --see OP for more details on this post.

“Hey Lionesser, I waned to get in touch with you, I feel kinda bad sending this email, I was really hoping to be emailing you telling you how I had the materials ordered and I would be starting your project but at the moment I don't have the extra $35 for the eBay sources moon-glow. I wanted to buy it and get it put together for you cause I thought that would be a good way to pay you back but right now we just don't have the extra money. If you want to buy the material from eBay we can go that route but if you don't mind waiting a couple more weeks I'd be more than happy to foot the bill, its something I wanted to do from the get-go." C_K --see OP for more details.

my itrader rating is very important to me as I plan to become a paying service provider pretty soon.

Here's the problem with that excuse CK; why would you not tell her the knife was broken when you received it from Amazon? You're trying every angle you can come up with here (she was throwing out a bunch of irrelevant angles as well with all the correspondence, it is really about the Dragonfly). You realize it's not reasonable to take 2 months on that job when you have no other knife scale projects on your table? You also realize you gave her the impression that the knife would be finished at the end of November, but now it's "1/2 way finished at the end of December" according to this post?

You're trying to weasel out of any responsibility any way you can. I think everyone would feel better if you would own up and be a man about it.

... and Lioness, If there was pictures included with the letter, those are relevant. The correspondence and list of gifts that show you're 10x more generous than him doesn't really apply to the matter in dispute, neither does CK making automobile metaphors or trying to play semantics about whether you were a customer or whatever.

Sharing information that you volunteered isn't a violation of forum policy in itself; and I don't see anything that was provided by Lioness that violates forum policy. You're grasping here CK.

1. (If the knife was broke when you received it) Did you inform her that the knife was broken?
2. Did you send all the e-mails that explained progress on the project? If so, that gives us an idea of where you were at.
3. If you already had the heavy sanding finished, why not send her the knife with the scales attached and let her finish the small details instead of taking it apart and sending the knife broke with G10 scales?
4. You told her that if she sprang for the G10 that it could still be sent in for W&R.... not you're saying "everyone knows that's not true"...

Marcinek is right, the PIF thread attracts a certain type, and eventually they go south. They keep a ledger and make sure it reads like they're in the red, but if you've been called out in a PIF thread you're almost certainly not the generous party that gives and gives and never takes (if that was the case, everyone would rush to your defense). It is a good thing when it works, but it always turns into the same dozen people trading around items to each other, and plays out more like a way around dealing through the official channels than people with abundance giving and people in need claiming.

Giant Wall of Text

First of all, no one said anything about banning. Second of all, you don't tell me what to do. Now that we got that straightened out, all I asked you to do was to respond to this thread, not tell the world of your most intimate life's details. No need to get so melodramatic. Seems like I asked you nicely to respond, and you blew me off. I asked you again and you storm in here freaking out. Relax.

If you were going to get banned it wouldn't be for modding a single knife, but ignoring a simple request to provide insight on this whole drama doesn't help matters. We don't know who is telling the truth and who is lying here, which again is why you were asked to chime in. At this point, I'm tempted to close this thread and call it a wash. Situations like this are a huge pain for us, because the supposed pay it forward threads, while well meaning, end up with potential problems like this. This was not a legitimate Exchange transaction, so we have nothing more to discuss. Except that those people participating in that mess need to weigh the pros and cons of what they are potentially doing. I don't remember anyone asking for Spark's blessing on those threads anyway, which was mistake one.

Keep the drama off the forums and work it out privately. The item was in your possession, and now the payee of the PIF is crying foul, accountability has a place somewhere in this equation.

He is one of the main contributors to the pif threads, and while he might not ever take anything he has sure has given a lot more than he took.

You need to work things out with CK somehow. You also cannot be soliciting work via these forums because that can bring heat on you. People with orange colored forum names pay to sell their work here, and going to other sources through the forums is where we have the problem. It's dealing on the backs of those that pay to keep the forums running, and it's not looked upon kindly. It's all part o the rules, which you agreed to follow by signing up and participating here.

I tried to work this out privately, however C_K chose to shut down communication and given his intent to come on here and become a future custom work person I spoke up. If you feel I need to compensate the forum in some financial form for this situation please direct me as to where and I will be happy to own up to what seems to be the issue on my part of this.

I understand (finally I think) what is going on. You and CK need to figure out someway to work this out privately. This was an unsanctioned event that occurred outside the Exchange. I don't think the PIF threads are a good idea because of things like this. There is too much out of control stuff and it gets to be disruptive, this thread/deal/whatever is a case in point.

This ends in a wash then. I am locking the thread at this point because C_K has already made it clear he has no intent of communication. Rev has weighed in on his point. I will upgrade my membership to platinum for a year to compensate the forum for cost and trouble. I would also like to thank those that spoke up.
