Cf/s90v 940-1

Just put in a preorder for this one. I have a 943 and love it. CF and S90V-> Yes please. (This is my first ever knife preorder- thanks bladeforums..:D)

Yeah, and they should make them in those steels again... like I said, with CF this time.

Not so sure about the upside for a 710 with CF? The scales are basically slabs and probably wouldn't do much to showcase the CF. The molded scales of the 940 and 950 really work well with CF. That's all IMHO and YMMV.

i just hope we see more s90v. i'm drolling at the thought of a ritter grip or a 520 in s90v...

The 940-1 is absolutely beautiful. What really does it for me is the open construction with the blue aluminum standoffs... I don't know if I could justify spending that much to upgrade over my 940 though.
But if they did a run with red, green, or ORANGE spacers, that I simply could not resist.

Did you see pics of this? I thought the 940-1 was a 940 with CF scales and a different blade steel. You're describing any entirely different knife. Do you have detailed pics you can share? I've only seen the one on the BM site.

Being a brand new owner/user of the 940, I think I was looking forward to that same knife, only using CF and a different steel. I was not expecting pretty much a new/different knife. I have a 940-1 on pre-order, but I'm going to have to rethink this. I love the looks (assuming it was only a 940 made with CF), but with it being an open/post design, I just don't know.

Blue barrel spacers, CF and S90V. Whats not to like? What is better about a backspacer compared to standoffs?

Not sure I'd call one "better", just different. It caught me off guard, that's all. Probably my own fault for not fully understanding what the 940-1 is/was going to be. I had "heard" that it was a 940 with CF scales and different blade steel. It is that, plus additional changes that I was expecting. Not sure if I like those additional changes or not. That's just me though.

You could always hold off until after these are released, and check out what people have to say about the modified design. The wait would be a bit longer but these are going to be a regular production item (far as I know).

Benchmade has confirmed that.
