Part of me says I don't need s90v, just get the green alum version. Other part says I would already be spending $180, why not just go all out!
Me too! After years of waiting I bought one anyway, just a couple days before they announced this and I hate it (the green and purple). I could kick myself...

Depends what you want/what you prefer. I have one of the REI CF 940s (940S-701) and the CF version definitely balances more toward the blade. I don't think it's better or worse, but it is different.
