CFK Knife update and company history

The $100 + $$ for the iPAK I pick up Mon. is not small change for a gift item to an old Ret'd guy. If the steel is not D2 HT ok it goes back. Also if is hollow ground: not good at -40 (F or C; same).
Suggestions for e-cape returns?
Read CFK rebuttals: bladef. labelled the "t" word by CFK; must be signed in to read I think. Very ugly word. As in 9/11. Evidently CFK = annoyed. CFK is also on Amazon. Etc, insofar as www shows. Interesting; back to1999, then I quit, phone $$. Seventeen years.
Best,
h in AK

Current usability, composition? Is it as stated on their websites? Or Pakistani "pretty welded junk"?
Almost forgot I ordered damascus. Thanks for replies, comments.
Longer posts bladef. throws away. Android originated. But my efail works fine. I will contact the e-whiz-tec's manyana; blade forums flavor. I have only been working with pc's/GIS/etc since '83, but never had to use a
dumb-phone to post anywhere before. This Samsung galaxy6 note edge is way slow, both processing in input-wise. Suggestion? Don't go there.

Understand that CFKokak has a Large question mark following it, but question marks are not allowed in yahoo's mail string. Nor are caps, but i need no more robot generated efail. Hormel spam is it for me.
Well, gotta see if I can fix my greeting/header, successfully change my pass string into bladef. The issued password is not intuitive. Also need to post some knife photos, since I cannot post directly to bladef. Just got a nice old 14" French chef knife, Elephant four star, unsharpened, but made in '32, or '52, old. Still beeswaxed, definitely not for sale.
Posting wrong place; I will not be carrying the elephant 14" blade gran chef; legal, but do not want to spend all my time detained by cops when in town. Plus my kukri is shorter. 20 inches or so, OAL.
Recommend a better auto over the Benchmade D2 blade? I like large OTF models, but out the side will do, stronger too. I would like to carry my uncle-given WWII paratroop OTF, German. But a keepsake. Autos: they all 'announce' themselves when opened, a sound a little like a model 12 pump. Closing. I like the Gerber 'tactical,' OTS, but aluminum is really cold hereabouts, and I mistrust the CM154 steel. Read too much about breaking blades. Just from being struck a sharp blow. Even a bent-blade, dull, can be a lifetime ahead of just a handle.
Thanks, h

What the what?

Can anyone make sense out of this word mess?

A little bit. Old retired guy in Alaska blames incoherent posting on Android. Samsung sucks! Bought a CFK before seeing this thread so he joined Blade Forums to talk about CFK, but he promises he likes other knives too. Old stuff is good. Says email works but still calls it efail. Likes spam in a can, but is afraid of junk mail. Needs someone to talk to besides his dog who doesn't answer back usually. Like Benchmade designs, but doesn't like D2 or CPM154 because it explodes in the AK tundra while stabbing moose and grizzly - should probably carry a 454 or 10mm or rifle. Did I mention I hate Android? Samsung sucks! My phone is so slow! FYI, I ordered a damacus bladed CFk. Hormel makes good spam in a can, but Samsung make shitty phones and Android sucks. Headers and pass strings and email strings and string string... do I sound like I am technically proficient? Gobbly gook gobby gook gook gook gook. Gobble gobble gook gook. More later when I dump this slow phone it only has like four cores and Android sucks did I mention Android sucks. Hit me up on efail if you want to be friends.

I am interested exactly where the Essex, England factory is located. Could either Last_Ditch or DrBulldog care to give a street address on this facility? Also could either of you give the address of your finishing facility in Oregon?

Whoahhh... Don't wrap me into the same category please. To clarify... I have no affiliation with any knife maker, seller, or any of the sort. I simply bought a CFK knife, came here to do a little research on CFK, and read all the information the community put out. Of which I put the highest value on! I felt ripped off, and sent CFK an email asking them some of the same questions people were asking here, and oddly enough, got a lot of the same answers you see in the topic. He called me that evening to answer my questions.

I have no more information about CFK on anything other than what was in this topic. I am not defending them nor "witch hunting" them. Just making the information I received available to anyone who was interested.

After reading all the posts here, I am in the same belief and most other members. Too many story flip flops for me to trust However, BEFORE reading this topic, I did buy a few of their knives, and they seem to be decent. Not great fit and finish, but sturdy and decent. As far as the origins of the blade steel, handle material, and where / what was assembled... I still to this day have no idea. What address they decide to use today? No clue. Who's name is on the company? no idea.

I hear you buddy. There is obviously paranoia on both ends of this. No one really knows who anyone is on the internets. There is a tendency for suspicion of anyone saying something remotely positive about CFK, which is something I felt even before I posted. That's not fair at all, but it is what it is.

On the CFK end of it, they are just seeing red for being called out IMHO.

I have my opinion of where they are made and that's good enough for me. As far as steel, maybe there will be some actual hardness tests and comp tests done by a user someday. I just see entertainment value in it now.

If someone has a connection to do steel tests like that PM me for a knife if you need one.

Why suspect a regular member who posts personal info on the product? Few product lines are not reviewed and few brands have not been criticized by someone, sometime, about something.

Now the "members" who only join to defend CFK, attack CFK's competitors, Like Timur, or abuse anyone who questions anything about CFK are something else again.

Definitely agree. I also think that there will be brand new members joining specifically because they searched for CFK information and found a thread here. These new people are not necessarily CFK moles or boosters. I am guilty of it myself - not trusting new posters who bought a CFK and say something positive. It is pretty normal for most consumers to really want to believe they chose wisely, even if they really got a polished Pakistani blade of mystery steel.

CFKokak told me his favorite blade was a gift from a favorite uncle, Jesse, made by Pal razor blade company, that Jesse carried in the third USMarine wave into Iwo Jima.
crufflers, he also said he agrees that android/S.Sung runs fast like a dead snail. Sir. But its the best he can use covertly in hospital. OK?
Oh, also he says Thank You All for all good facts Re CFK con, a forger
(CustomForgedKnives=true) who defaces perfectly good (?) imitation D2 by hammering it and making said D2 blades UGLY!

Wait so you are someone else tpying this post for CFKokak? Or are you just talking really strange in third-person about yourself or your character a la DrBulldog:

DrBulldog is Jason Baker.

Weird.

CFK, interesting name; a con?, or is that Con?, and one with fair P. tats, too, maybe; or is it CON, an acronym; etc.
CFK (et al ?) likes multiple meanings, is that rare? No, commonish. Like me. CFK also likes uniqeness and rarity=him, which is dirt common, its called Pride, capital P. False? Pride? Not entirely, depending what kind of 'con', this is. CFK is doing a ". . . quite profitable . . ." 'con' business of some ilk through ebay, amazon, and multiple semi-dependant and perhaps independent collaborators (resellers?) spread both webwise and factually/geographically through the US, and associated with other parts of the world. Though CFK could use a decent script writer to be any where near as good as the movie "The Sting," they get it "right enough" to move a lot of steel sometimes labelled "D2 Tool," which is no more "D2 tool steel" than John Handcock is a steel. It is just a name, like marsh rabbit in supermarkets is really muskrat, Ondatra zibitheca. CFK has been around since before 1999, a de facto "blue moon 2002". Stay tuned. [Unless this is boring/offense/etc; and if it is, well, trot along, do your blading elsewhere please. Or, read on, CFK is]

All right then. Let's get to testing that steel comp and hardness.

CFK like CRK is kind of catchy. I'm sure it is just a coincidence like my notch back bowie looks kind of exactly like a Tops Prather or the whole Tom Brown Tracker rip-off. But nothing is new under the sun, right? So maybe there are no new designs?

There are factories that make knives and sell them cheap with a "makers mark" stamped if you like, though most of the stamps I see are barely readable and uneven on the iPaks. Some of the CFK's are stamped well. Someone could get the old family crest stamped on a Paki blade or a hundred if they wanted to - and try to sell them at a flea market or auction site. I think it has been done before though.

I am not yoda. More later.
