Yeah, all the TX ribs or brisket I get out here is done dry rub, even from TX natives. St. Louis ribs done in sauce is what I prefer. I really should go get the smoker from my dads house, used to love smoked stingray! I would eat it cold with nothing on it! Tasty stuff for sure!

Although, I won't be fishin for 'rays anytime soon, found out the motor on the fishing boat had aquick access hatch in the side of the block...I about shot the dammed thing when I saw the f***ing connecting rod sticking out the side. :mad: Bought the boat and motor brand spankin new back in '09, only have about 50 hours on the main motor, maybe 150 on the kicker motor which was also brand new and is going strong. Tempted to sink the dammed thing and report it stolen, not really, but it did cross my mind.

Anyways, since I'm on a rant (lol) my worthless co-worker didn't do a dammed thing this morning, not even make change for the registers, drank my rockstar, and took off as soon as I got here to go to my friends memorial in Santa Cruz, but to take his wife and kids to the beach to play. Now he says he won't be in tomorrow and I am going to have to work open to close. Grrr.

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Daniel, I really don't have a clue why it broke. It was stored properly and went to run it just to keep things lubed when it just went clunk! Of course it was less thn a year out of warranty, too!

Gettin ready for work, it was 106*F yesterday and is supposed to be hotter today!

Down in Death Valley it forecast to be close to the record high. Not just the record for the area, but the hottest temperature ever recorded on Earth! The record is 134*F and it is forecast to be 130*F.

I lived most my life in Texas and I love hybrid ribs...dry rubbed and mesquite smoked then finished with sauce to glaze. I usually make a bourbon sauce for them.
Hope everyone is getting a chance to barbecue. Its MRE's today.
 
just in and lots done... 23 sheaths yesterday and sharpening/more finishing today... 80+ hours this week!

Strong, I'm from TX and it seemed we often had ribs like that. Lot of great BBQ to choose from!

Xander I hope you can fix it cheaply!

FBC! lol I just talked a guy out of repairing scored cylinder walls on a massive diesel with JB weld, no joke!

Off today and tomorrow, work Wednesday and off again Thursday. Just popped open a beer, it tastes so damn good right now! Its already 90*F here.
