I spotted my press fit thumb stud hole then decided to lower it a hair to give the knife more metal around the hole... just wasn't thinking and that change made it to where I had to grind away waaaaaaayyyyyy too much handle to give the thumb stud room for travel. Just silly! :)

I had been up since 3 am and wasn't thinking... I even have the knife template drawn out in CAD, hanging on the wall and cut out to use so everything was perfect. It was kind of Homer Simpson style, lol....

Don't worry, I have more materials ready to go and the hard part (design - which I will actually follow this time) is done! :D Today it just seems silly, what the heck! :D :D :D

I'm really excited about the store I set up! It will give me an extra hour in the shop each week. :D

It's cool whatever it is!

Nice on the mushrooms! We have some Boletus in the yard that may be Porcinis, I have a positive ID on them but am scared to eat one! I should take a class, we are in mushroom central here. I went to the ski hill and found tons as mentioned in the local paper but it was neat to see them in my yard, right outside of the shop.

Pics if you get any! I find a Ti knife is awesome for cutting mushrooms.

Thanks Daniel. Some mistakes can be fixed and some... well, you know.
You are already up and dusted off.
RockOn!!
:D

We have tons of local spots for M' huntin'.... Chanterells are popular... and great to eat! But daaaaaamn I like Lobster mushrooms... They are freaks of nature and tasty as HELL!

That is a a Lobster mushroom with my boy, 1yr 11mos. ago. He was 2yrs old. We've been up other times, just no photos.. That mushroom is over a foot across and worth around $35-$40!!! These go for $22/lb... a bit more than Chanterells and SALMON O_O They taste almost exactly like lobster, texturally speaking exactly like lobster.. shiz, and cost muc more than lobster per pound.. We had about 4.5lbs of them and 2lbs of Chanterells that trip... Now I want to EAT :(&)

Now that is cool!

We have tons of mushrooms here, two weeks ago they held a class for mushroom ID. I know we have chantrelles too...

When I lived in Austin there was a guy growing exotic mushrooms in bags of recycled cottonseed hulls. I think you can buy them at most supermarkets in the area... I still have the article and bought a few books about it as I found it interesting. My Dad worked as a picked in Europe back in the 1960'd...

Good stuff! I think one of the cooks where I worked brought one in once...
