Fireplace removed, sounds good! I know many will cool the house more than heat it... are you getting a stove? We have a tiny wood stove that is awesome...

Geothermal rocks too if you have the right place...

Knives - yes! sheath pics will be next, it is looking good!

:D Polish the brass - if you use a silver polish with a tarnish resist (Hagerty is good stuff) it will stay bright for a long time... Renaissance wax helps too.

I have sold tons of Sterling Silver jewelry, lots of it has brass highlights and I learned that silver polish really works well.

Then on the other hand I'd jut leave it, patina is where it is at! Liver of Sulphur will make it look cool in hurry... of course it already does!
 
Yeah, I know everyone is all about patina lately, but honestly, I like brass shiny. This brass, however, picks up everything, including sideways glances and pixie farts. It's amazing.

The Hagerty polish I mentioned is probably the best to keep it shiny, brass does look awesome that way!
 
I'll try it out - I usually just hit it with the polishing wheel really quickly. Sometimes MAAS polish, too.

So much banging here today... upstairs in two rooms, behind me in this room, and down the hall... AHHHHHHHHHHH

So I can't figure it out... felt scaled camp knife or big Ti tanto... pick one... how?

BTW Daniel, do you have any TBOKs close? SSIK folders? So it's folder time.. what else will be finished soon?? What's the khurkchete going to be like? Contoured handles would be useful... SAW BACK OH YEAGH!!!

And, I didn't realize Lile (your man) did the knife for Rambo. And Martin Knives makes a few hollow handled knives, one of which is made following Lile's design. I'm looking at getting one.. RAMBO RULES!

Both knives are big and light, I think you would be pleasantly surprised either way.

In the works... being sick, lol! Feeling a bet better and will go down to the shop later... err nevermind today is mailing day! but soon!

I am starting the SSIK folders over, have loads of knives to finish up too.

TiBOK's... I still want to make more of them along with KCT's and maybe a new keychain tool design.

Kukrichete - yes likely coke bottle style grips, I am likely using some thick 3 black/tan/green canvas mcarta I have, it is cool stuff. It is ground, heat treated and almost ready for glue up... I'm getting a few more going while I am waiting on epoxy.

Plans - sell some knives! I need supplies and the like...

Upcoming! lots... folders as fast as I can make 'em (mostly depends on how long I have to soak them in acid to remove broken taps! :D I need a tapping head next... )

...By the way I tested the Kukrichete the other day and it is nasty! double convex...

I'm basically working on lots of random stuff as I work my way into full on folder production.

I plan on introducing two new fixed blade models this year, the new Legal EDC and Pocket Fighter. (making bunches! CPM154 steel)

I'm keeping the 'dashis, keychain tools, Backpackers and a bunch more I am forgetting... as far as one-offs go I will always do them for fun but need to maintain focus on batches.

And don't forget about Kitchen knives, they are a new focus! they will come out slowly as they are very time consuming

I think we need a Bali eventually too, a run!

Japanese influenced knives (besides the kitchen knives) will be happening too but I am gong into higher end work in that area when I do
 
Good morning , I managed to jack up my thumb last night grinding.It now acts like it is double jointed ......feels sooooo weird ! I will just take the day off and eat ice cream. Have a good one y'all.

You didn't run it through the grinder did you? the first time I set up my 10" wheel I ran my wrist through it, caught in the belt! stay safe!
 
Thanks man , I'm fine . No, I didn't run it through the grinder.I guess it is from pushing on the blade while grinding with my thumb. I think I will stop grinding at midnight from now on.

In all seriousness tho I thought I had a metal splinter in my ring finger last week after grinding forever. As hard as I tried I couldn't find it. After awhile I think i figured that I had just burned it on the hot metal and I was just paying for the stupidity hours later! :)
 
Afternoon fellas.

Had to come into work 2.5 hours early today for a meeting with the corporate bosses about benefits. The crappy part is I was never told about the meeting until I got a phone call wondering where I was! Oh well, got my coverage taken care of, and its cheaper now too!

Haven't even been in the shop lately. The wife screwed up her back pretty bad while I was off hunting and has been off work since Monday last week. So all my free time is spent doing what she can't. Might hav to sell off a bike here soon, since the folders are comin around now! I was really hoping it was going to stretch into tax return time and I could spend that money on it, but I can ride only one bike at a time. You should see it when I try to ride two, lol!!! :D
