Gotta do somethin' to take your mind off the tracking! It's what I do.

Hit the shop, go for a nice drive, pick up a hobby etc. If you sit in a corner thinking about the DFK, it will destroy you ;)

Day's goin pretty well here. Lunch with another couple. Dogtime, Pokemon? off to the gym, then... maybe workshop again? Something must be wrong with me.

What you guys doin tonight?????

WOO HOO!!! Finally got satellite internet!! Much faster than the wireless card I was using.

^ That rocks! Very nice... it really is good to have!

Evan, sorry I haven't mailed you with the insured amount, every time I check the site is down. It is most likely insured for the actual amount.

Nice FBC! I ground like a maniac today... 7 folder blades done in .207" CPM-D2.

I hope it gets there soon Bobby! I have been waiting on parts nearly every day this week and do understand.

The folder bags are finally in and I customized them today! Pics later...

Sorry for the delay on mailing the folders too, the bags were almost a week late. My apologies. I think the bags are cool though!

Today was epic, I spent the entire morning working on bags. Finished customizing a friction folder that was taking me quite a while to get right and just nailed it! ...ground 7 monster folder blades. I'm not even sure how I even ground that many blades in a day but I am on a roll I'll say that!

I hope everyone has a great evening!

Good things come to those who wait.

Dude, that's an insane amount of blades in one day. For those of you who don't make knives, I can tell you that it takes me about 115 minutes from barstock to profiled with bevels. I am freakin *tired* after one, LOL!

You are a monster!

I had some new belts, grinder at full tilt.. lol was pressing so hard I gave myself a stomachache! My abs and shoulders are toast! lol I backed off a bit but they must have been a record. Tall grinds right to the spine and about .01" at the edge.

.01" post heat treat? If so these things might as well go zero grind!!!

I know whatcha talkin about. How I grind, I can't really lean in (unless doing stock removal). It's all about pressing up! I got impressive forearms now! hahaha

That's right! By the way I just use a feeler gauge to reference thickness while grinding... calipers are nice but I like to keep those Mitutoyos away from steel dust.

I grind a 45 in with the edge down then start on the bevel. I press harder and run the grinder faster with low grit then work my way down to slow/light pressure as the grit goes up.

I should record how I do things. Logan said it's real weird. Was talking to Kev about it, haha.

Whatever gets the job done!!!!!

Truth! Whatever brings a new knife into this world is allllllllright with me! Tanto chopper hybrid for the win!:D

Nah, he's in PA with me. Rolf probably posted after 8. Kev probably never went to bed! hahaha.

Mornin' fellers!

Hey Guys the Crazy European is here.
More Work, more responsabilities, more anxiety and more pills.
How are for the US? The crash plane in Ukrania make me nightmares, de thrd WW is near.
Imwilson satellilte internet is using in remote areas, internet for wire is a better option and much more velocity.
Daniel... Grind.

Morning guys!

I've been researching super steels for the last few weeks...

I'm working on folders today! :D

That's one of the things I like about you Daniel, always doing research. We are sure you come up with best stuff, designs, techniques. With the negs about grinds lately, some of us love chisel grinds! Don't stop. From the Japanese chef knives to garden trimming tools. Your micro bevel solves the negatives. If anyone uses a Dashi they would see the benefits... sharp, stout, tough.

Nice day everyone.

Don
