Hmm, I'm not sure. I would think pure lead too soft for body work. Maybe Pete has some...

Hope everyone is making it a great day!

Damn near broke my finger this morning trying to learn a new yoyo trick, lol! I really need a rubber rimmed one! It came back and smacked me right in the end of my finger very hard, so I put it away, lol.

Morning friends!

Turned over 1000 miles in the truck this morning! It's not new, that's just what I've driven for the year so far! Got 172K on the clock though.

I think I'm going to dig out a small fixed blade today and fiddle with making a sheath for it. It's a walnut and 15N20 long clip, almost a B&T pattern that is a partner to my walnut and 1084 drop point hunter by my good buddy DanCo in TX.

It's not that close in size to the hunter, it's actually a nice small/slim little knife. This was also plate quenched, it has held up very respectably too, even if it's not an air hardening steel.

Make a it a great day fellas!

Nice! The smaller one reminds me of the classic Buck 110.

I remember discussing the plate quench. 15n20 comes thin and is extremely difficult to keep straight during heat treat as I think is originally comes rolled... same as AEBL. What I have been doing is normalizing with plates then oil quenching past the hardening nose and going to the plates. After that it is 50/50 if it will warp during grinding! I'm going to send out my next batch of AEBL as it was just painful to deal with losing so many to warp... even after a few tries.

Yeah, the design is based on classic folding knives. I asked for him to add the clip to the blade and it just became a fixed 110 in design!

Good morning vato loco's.
X, I would bet money that Pete has some and it is "vintage". :D Nice Danco's
Daniel, that AEBL sounds like a pain.

Very cool knife! Is DanCo still around the forums? Good guy...

It is! Not bad to grind though and I love the final results. Maybe send it off to Peters... I want to do a Petty and a few others in AEBL eventually.

Organic Black with Rust Red.

They need a red tanto 110, I like it! I have a couple of 110's and a 112. Some of the guys here with subforums are realy good with 110 mods.

This baby could be really soon... I'm thinking tonight!

It's raining! But that means I can't really ride my bike to work.

Wuss!

(Kidding, I'm with you. I have a friend who rides all winter here, ice or snow, rain, sleet - doesn't matter - but he's insane.)

Morning everyone! Keep the momentum going!

Lol! I do feel kinda wussy for not riding though. If I didn't work with the public I would definitely ride. But I have a few hours before work still, so if it clears up I plan on still riding.

Btw, you go see the David Bowie art exhibition in Chicago yet? It's called David Bowie Is. At the MCA. I think it would be an awesome retrospective to see!

I haven't had a chance to see it yet. It's up for a good while yet, I think. I certainly will. My current workplace is about a mile walk from the museum. Might take a long lunch and hike up there before the weather turns on us.
