Opinel carbon steel , choose your lenght and size, victorinox alox 91mm, any of those, farmer, pioneer, soldier, solo..., douk douk, merkator, ontario rat 1.
There are many options to choose from, but what is your price range, and application for the knife ? And how do you intend to carry it ?

The entire Byrd line. I like the Robin and Meadowlark, Small sized but good Spyderco type ergos. Good materials and quality also.

Also, Ontario RAT Model 1 is one of the best ones. Been very pleased with mine, very good design and decent materials and construction. Quite a good slicer.

I just got my spyderco tenacious the other day and i love it. Very sharp out of the box and the lock is really solid :) only 30$

over the past year ive bought every low priced good quality knife there is just about. my favs are
ontario rat 1
tenacious
skyline
leek
delica 4 ffg
all are great!!

Lots of good suggestions so far in this thread. I'd add the CRKT Drifter and Sanrenmu 763 or 710.

I agree on the lower end Kershaw, Spyderco or the Ontario Rat 1.

I carry the Rat 1 as my on the job EDC and I work construction, so it takes a beating.

Just make a decision on what length you want...open and closed...and you have several fine choices to choose from.

i am a huge fan of the delica's. i have spent a lot more on a knife for edc but they all turned into safe queens. i think i might pick up the ffg4, currently i have a 3 i bought years ago.

i just got mine and i truly believe you can't beat it for the money!

there are a crap load of great edc knifes and cheap is relative. I think my spyderco police is cheap at about 100 bucks. some think 400 dollar customs are cheap. it all depends on how cheap you are...

I say skylines are great knifes but if your a broke ass, well even that is too much for you...

Just how cheap are you looking to go?

Kershaw Salvo is my favorite for low cash. Amazing quality framelock with tracktech inserts and a perfect utility blade shape.
