Cheap but good EDC??????

Kershaw Skyline, Leek, Zings, Salvo..any of those would make an inexpensive EDC

Or maybe a Buck Vantage..

So many options out there..

The Spyderco Tenacious or Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara would be some options. CRKT and Buck also have some affordable options in that price range and are well available in the Netherlands. Just like the Kershaw Chill and Kershaw Skyline. More traditional options would be Herder or Opinel.

I've found that Timberline knives perform very well for an inexpensive knife.

With all the options out there the Buck Vantage Pro with S30V is very hard to beat. That piece can be picked up for fifty bucks and should'nt be overlooked.

I've been impressed with the ka-bar warthog folder I have. Beefy, solid, well made, $15. Also the Kershaw OD-1 and 2

Lots of great knives in your price range. In addition to the suggestions above, the AG Russell Featherlite starts at $35.

Out of town for a job a while back and realized I had forgotten to pack a pocketknife. Stopped in a Lowe's store and bought a Victorinox. Total cutting sweetness for only $13.

For around $20 you could get a Victorinox Rambler. It's one of the best keychain carry knives I've yet to encounter; very useful tool selection, and extremely people friendly. Truth be told, any SAK configuration would be a good purchase. Perhaps look at Case offerings if a slippie will do, as they tend to be a little more 'gentlemanly' and fancy for pocket carry. I've heard that the Chinese made Rough Rider slip-joints are a good affordable alternative to Case knives... (I don't own any and cannot personally vouch for them, though.)

If you'd like a bigger single-bladed locking folder, the Spyderco Delica 4 FFG is an excellent choice for regular EDC. For tougher tasks, the Ontario RAT-1 is a steal for around $30. The Byrd Cara Cara 2 FFG in FRN is very decent for a larger blade at around the $20 mark. Others have already mentioned excellent alternatives such as the Spyderco Tenacious line, Buck Vantage series, Opinel, etc.

Good luck! :)

I'll throw in the Boker Trance. Nice knife that you can get with a plain bevel or half or whole serations. Frame lock that is nice and slim.

CRKT Drifter...I have one (the stainless version), and I love that little folder!.

The Spyderco Resilience is under $50 shipped. Or one of its smaller siblings if that blade is too much for you. But in any of them you get a sweet, smooth opening folder with G10, decent 8Cr13MoV steel, phosphor bronze washers, jimping, up/down/left/right stainless clip, etc. Good stuff.
