check out what USPS thinks about your packages,

:)
I too now always insure something that I feed I can't afford to lose , but that's not the point.. they should be responsible for their own.. no matter..
why be forced to pay more, I'd rather see it like UPS with up to, say $100.00 covered..then you don't have to wonder if it's going to get there or not.. if they had to pay the system would clean it self up some when it cost them money..USPS insurancce compaired yopu UPS in a lot more cost BTW,,

did you know that the USPS was selling your lost items on ebay, I'm not sure if they are doing it now or not I lost the link now but it's true....... and profiting on the stuff you lose... when the idem is won by someone the winner now has to pay them the shipping on it,,,again:eek: , think about that guys..
the postage was already paid on the items to get to their destinations, and now USPS gets paid again for it plus the proceeds from your losses from ebay.... no wonder they didn't care if you got it back or not,,

now don't that put some panties in a knot, I had a few words with the postmaster general about that when I found out, I lost about $200.00 worth of Stag at that time for the same reasons they equipment..it was the first time I lost stuff,,, but that was another story..:(

That is F## ##'n beautiful. I wonder if they donate any of the proceeds to less fortunate individuals,,, cuz otherwise it would look like,,, well,, look like it does, that they could "lose" a certain % of mail to make sure they have enough of our stuff to sell,,, wow,,,

just a thought I had too

thanks Jim for that Link..

I got the label back today from Bill , my post master is OPed that
it is in such great shape from being on a package that got destroyed and all content lost.. I can only hope the steel did it's job on the equipment before it lost it's battle :D

I just gotta say, how many claims for 500 lost Led Zepplin Tee shirts could have been made? Can't some of these items be returned just based on insurance description? Or is that more work than setting up an ebay auction house?:grumpy:
What a load...if they do this full bore, any bets on how long before people are seeing their 'lost' mail items on ebay?

Remember the people running theses places are protected and just about imune from any type of real punishment for their errors.

I keep seeing people saying its you should have got insurance. Here is my story.

Several years ago I had a speedglass automatic welding lense quit working. I also had a similar lense that I had broken. After contacting Hornel and being told the nonworking lense was under warranty and would be replace at no cost and the broken lense would be repaired for $100. I boxed them in their original boxes and then placed those in another box wrapped and securely taped that. I then Insured the shippment for I believe $500 dollars. Nothing happened for weeks so I finally called Hornel and they had no record of them arriving. I contacted the postoffice, a long involved phone transfer game and finally got some paperwork. I filled it out and waited after a long period of time with nothing I called the post office again. I was informed that the problem was that Hornel had not replied to them. I informed them the problem was that they had lost the lenses. Finally after many calls and months (I could only call on week days at certain hours and set on the phone forever) I finally got a check for less than $200. Further calls and complaints finally revealled they had only figured for 1 lense when all the paper work showed 2. Then after a review and more calls and papers I got like another $100 or so. I finally got about $300 to replace 2 lenses worth $500. Yes I know one would have cost me $100. But that is still a $400 lose. Plus the months of lost use and hassles. Nobody there cared and they acted like I was the problem because I was bothering them to live up to the deal. I asked for someone in authority to go to or complain to repeatedly. According to the USPS that person does not exist or it is the same bunch who messed it all up in the first place. No wonder the rates go up and they shoot each other.
