Check your Stocks, Man!

sunnyd,

I think they were made in low numbers (1000??) in the late '90s...so not vintage, but pretty cool little knives. A tortoise shell celluloid as well (for A. G. Russell??), but no stockman pattern, I don't believe.

Bill

How about a Long Tail C stockman knife broken out of the Case XX Silver Script Limited Edition glass display case.. he, he..:( :p :D

It's nice to see all these great knives showing up here! I'm enjoying the show!! Thanks to you all!!

I hope nobody minds if I post this one again. Larry

Nicely done stag knife, Larry! I have a smoked pearl whittler from Sargent (Queen). I wonder if he still has knives produced?

Charlie, I stopped by his shop last month and it seems he's doing allot of club knives. I am not sure if they had his tang stamp but he was eching the blades. Larry

Thanks, Larry. I talked to him on the phone a while back, but never met him personally.

Robeson Shuredge Red Bone Medium Stockman. Manufactured in 1999 so it could have a ATS34 main blade. Larry

I posted these in another thread, but here they are again...

Guyon, you have good taste when it comes to Stockmans. I particularly like your Schatt and Morgan Stockman . Larry

Thanks fellas. Larry, the S&M stockman has some really nice ATS-34 in it. Picked it up from Ron Ryder at cuttersandcollectors.com. He may have another one or two like it. I think it's a 1999 run in green bone.

Not all these are "beauties" IMO. Most are just honest, working knives with a few slightly fancier knives thrown in for good measure.

As you can see, half are Schrades. My stockman madness didn't begin until I found out about the Schrade plant closing down.

What collections!! Here are a few:

I've only seen one other Boker like it put up by Silverladdie last year. I think they were made sometime in the early eighties, although I could be off by a decade. I haven't been able to find a thing about them.
Eric

I was very interested to see the Boker stockman photo. While I have not seen that particular model before I have 2 standard Boker double pelican stockman knives. One is very well used and I used it every day from 1973 till 2000. The other is used but not near as much. It was purchased in 1974. Both were bought in Australia. I have never seen any reference to the Henry Boker with the double pelican trademark. Does anyone know the history of the brand? When I can I will post a photo. I need to find a website for them.
