Chinese Military Shovel makes Leatherman look like a childs toy.

I really want to like that, but all those moving parts lead me to doubt the durability of that thing.

Didn't actually seem to be many moving parts on the thing, maybe an additional one around the pivot assembly.

Kinda neat, I loved the upbeat marching theme music though. :D

Looks like only one moving part, but it's a critical part. I have a surplus West German folding shovel with a very sturdy folding mechanism, but I've seen some that were less trustworthy.

Kudos to them, though. If anyone ever had any doubts that communism was dead, marketing like this put the notion to rest.

I have a whole CD of music like that. I always pop in in when I take someone for their first ride in my top-down jeep! It always makes them smile. :)

But does it automatically play that music while in use? :D

I want one now, even though I love my knives, multi-tools, and my miniature folding shovel :p

Screw the shovel, I want the music...translated is it the "Magnificent 7" shovel?

great i can cut through wire , dig some sand, chop down a twig, shave some jelly, take a dump in the woods , bury it & then chop up the spuds for dinner -why didn't any one think of this before .
NB no shovel was harmed during the making of this film.

Not to go into a non-knife tangent, but I too would like to know the name of this CD.:)

I made the CD myself. It does have the Magnificent 7 song. It also has that beef commercial song. (I think the real name of that one is Rodeo/Arron Copeland) There's also the themes from Bonanza and Big Valley, along with others I can't remember. The first jeep ride/sound experience was with my mom-in-law. She was laughing the whole time. :)

A few posts mentioned concerns regarding quality as it is a Chinese-made product. I don't know why Cold Steel or Gerber doesn't pull a China and make a functional replica of this in 1055. I'd buy that. I'd buy that three times.

Just Great. So now they can dig their way to us for a land assault, or paddle to us for a sea assault. They can probably fly with them too, but I reckon they will keep that a secret.

I wonder how many shovels they broke during the filming. I've seen Army E-tools break while chopping through roots.
