Chinese Military Shovel makes Leatherman look like a childs toy.

Intesting concept; but you sure aren't going to find my happy butt trying to scale a two story building on a rickety Chinese shovel.
That's a good way to fall straight from "Special Forces" to "Special Ed" in 0.4 seconds.

I wonder what exactly was the purpose of showing the guy eat crap trying to jump across the river just past the 5 minute mark? lol

That was just to demonstrate the shovel's 'god-mode'. This versatile tool can even smite your enemies from a distance!:D

Yep; I bet you could tie some dental floss through the Spydee hole on a Millie and use that as a grappling hook. The Millie's superhuman powars would bestow themselves upon the floss, just through sheer contact, and make it strong enough to hoist even the plumpest fatty. :D

I really want to like that, but all those moving parts lead me to doubt the durability of that thing.

Yeah, the hinge and lock would surely loosen over time... however if it starts out solid at least, it could be highly versatile until needing repair/replacement. Could be invaluable when pack weight is a big consideration... for relatively short excursions anyway.

For digging, I'd probably use the thing in its half-folded hoe form... less strenuous than a shovel in most circumstances.

Is that a bottle opener on the side? :O)

SOLD! :D

Seemed more Magnificent Seven to me.:D

You're right on the money I think. If Yul Brynner were still with us, I bet he'd have one. ;)

The folks in the video had that shovel doing everything except curing cancer.

They're working on it... stay tuned.

I'm not sure that one thing that they were dicing was a potato. It looked like some other type of root vegetable. If it was a potato, it must have been on steroids. That thing was freaking huge.

Looked like ginger root to me.

I expect to see Ron Popiel hawking 'em on the shopping channel next week.

(That whirring noise you hear is Billy Mays spinning in his grave 'cause he missed a chance to sell 'em!)

The music is what sold me.

LOL yea , made me feel like ridin the open praries on horseback in search of whiskey and wimmen. :D

I didnt know they had potatoes in China.

This reply made me chuckle heartily.

by the way, I am from china and serve in chinese army for 3 years....and I have ever see shovel......many things is useless.........

The best use was as an oar at 5:30.

Seems cool, but really, if having a hinge there was actually a good idea, all shovels would have that feature by now.

Welcome to the forum, Victor!

If I understand you correctly, you have never seen this shovel in your service in the army?

I would buy one just to try it out, and I think several others here would buy one. Some of us like unusual tools and are willing to try new ones.
