Just sharing pics of a beautiful blade I just picked up at the mailbox and the evident disappointment when I opened. The fit and finish is perfect. To bad about the tip. I could not find the piece anywhere inside the box. The blade itself is in perfect condition. Since this came from an online retailer, I am not here to blame BR or anyone for this. Just sucks to receive a blade like this. The knife itself is a beauty and nicely balanced. A2 steel with which I have tons of experience from my Busse steel heart and the many years of abused service it has provided. I will be sending it back to the retailer but it was nice to hold in hand for a bit.

Ouch!

I’m sure they’ll try to tell you the mail gremlins got the tip. Hopefully they won’t make an issue about replacing it.

Very similar in profile to an ESEE junglas with less blade width. The blade itself is about 3/16" flat ground and about 1.5" wide. So good blade geometry. May have been better if it had a thicker profile for heavy use. Based on the broken tip, not sure I would trust this for heavy use.

Thats a knife. In my crocodile dundee voice. Poor knife. Sometimes things are meant to be. If it came with a tip then a couple uses and snap. Then that would realy suck.

No kidding. Funny, I was likely just going to mount it as a quality wallhanger anyway as a talking piece, but...

Perhaps it is just the angle of the picture but that tip looks very thinly ground, what is the thickness of the area where the tip should be ?

VERY thin. In fact, I would say it is near identical to my Junglas at the tip. Not sure as to numbers. Will measure it before shipping back. Still a little surprised it snapped. There was no bend at all.

Their website seems pretty good so all should be fine.
Was it KSF? I've returned stuff to them before, though only because I didn't like the items. They were really good and really helpful. (I had long discussions with them on the phone, asking for advice.)

That is quite peculiar, let us know what you find out.

Speaking of grinding . . .
. . . I'm picking up on some vibrations from the ether . . .
Let me tune in a little . . . just need to lift my left foot and . . . turn my head . . . chin up a little . . .
YES . . . I HAVE IT ! ! !
The knife says it is telling you that it wants to be ground into a clip point.
These things just come to me.
(I must confess . . . I'm a bit "psychic")

It was not KSF. But I will out them if they honor their service if they do good.

The broken tip sure worries me, but it is thin. So who knows what happened. The fact that the piece was not in the box means to me that it broke somewhere else and fell off. I am sure that if it was noticed it would have been returned. There sure is plenty of blade length to cut this one down and fix it, lol.

Is there damage to the box? Evidence that it occurred in transit?
Not that it changes anything, I’m just curious.
I had a large Becker escape it bonds within the box during transit. The tip chewed a few little holes in the end of the factory box and nibbled on the sheath a little. The knife itself was unscathed and the sheath damage was so minor that I just kept it.
