Christmas picture loot thread

I get the impression it's considered kind of a bible, sorta like Nessmuk's book. I'm not particularly knowledgable about technical bushcraft stuff although I've spent a lot of time outdoors, but just flipping through the thing right when I opened it I learned some stuff. Tons and tons of diagrams, which I really like.

It's a real good book. I've been using it for 6 or 7 months now.

Ended up getting a Surefire g2 LED, a Buck 55, and a SOG Fielder, that's all that you guys would want to hear.
Still have family gatherings tomorrow and Tuesday, so there's a chance I will end up getting that hawk.

I got a card that says I get to pick out my favorite mashax

I'm saving the card because if these things don't come out soon she'll forget and I'll get screwed out of my mashax:)

BRL - Is that book pretty good? I got some Amazon GC's, because my wife didn't really know what books I wanted. I was looking at a decorative knot tying book for improving my paracord tying, and have been looking at some sort of bushcraft / survival stuff.

All ready been answered, but I picked up the book about 8 months ago. It is a great book, Mors Kochanski Bushcraft is the bible of "Bushcraft". Buy it you can't go wrong.

I sure didn't expect to get any blades for Christmas, but lookee what my son got for me:

The only knife that showed up before xmas....a sweet KFU bushcrafter....along with the matching EDC...

Unfortunately i will have to wait until december 27th for the 4 other xmas knives in the mail...

No knives for me this year other than the Alox Bushcrafter. I did however get a 50s era Craftsman bandsaw and drill press. These old tools are killer when cleaned up, bearings replaced, and tuned. Plus they just look cooooool!

Finally got it! I was messing around with it earlier but if I start batonning in the middle of the living room (and pretty close to the middle of the night) I don't think I'll be too popular ;)

Man, everybody is racking up. Warrior, you're gonna love that ESEE 3. I didn't get any blades, but got a new camera (took this pic with it), a new petzl rack and shunt that I've been wanting.

Nice ***-3, Warrior. They are really great knives (mine's a RAT-3 which I believe is the same thing).

Where'd the liners come from though? Is that something *** sells or did your son get em from somewhere? You'll be glad you have em since the handle profile is pretty thin and you're a big dude.

Thanks tw, looking forward to using it. It was an unexpected surprise, that's for sure. What's a petzl rack and shunt for? Grats on the new camera.

Thanks. The liners came on it. The handle fits my hand comfortably. I'm not used to flat scales, but still no issues with it. I like it very much.

I will post pics later, but I got a Condor 3 day assault pack. (it's not a knife, but is related to outdoors, which is related to knives :D)

I got a lot more from my girlfriend than this year that I expected. Back in November she had me open up a netbook that she had bought me to make sure that it worked because she could only return it within 30 days of when she bought it. After that I figured I would get a few smaller and less expensive gifts beings we usually give each other one higher priced gift and then a handful of lower priced things. Man was I wrong!! First I opened some allen wrenches that I had wanted and then a package that she kept saying was very breakable. It turned out to be a wall display case for some of the knives that I collect and inside the case was a bk11. I was pretty happy with the case and bk11 and figured that my other gift would be something smaller that I had asked for. I open up the next box and there's a big spyderco box in it. Its not the box that a folder would come in, but a fixed blade sized one, so I'm really getting pumped because I had kinda hinted for a while about a fixed blade Spyderco that I wanted, but really expected that I would be buying it myself. Anyways I flip the box to the end and read the tag that says "Bushcraft". I just got a huge grin on my face and almost tore the box into pieces getting it open. I've gotta say that it is one heck of a blade. It feels awesome in my hand and has some really nice weight to it and it even gave me a love bite right away when I was putting a bit of oil on it that night.

I got no knives for xmas. However, I got a lot of stuff FOR knifemaking. Dad is building me a new workbench in my garage tomorrow, and I'm getting better lighting installed too. Also got a start on an Xmas knife--my mom wanted me to see what I could do with a chinese cleaver design, so I designed that yesterday, and got a start on it today:
