Damn... No wonder why it was so cheap then. Oh well. At least it has night sights and came with three mags. I suppose that I'll just have to make do with what I have.

I reckon it'll get ya by until you can buy a real one that has plastic sights and ejects cases right in your face.

I'm thinking about picking up a Sig P320 to try out and possibly changing over to that family of guns for my go-to/carry guns and relegating my Glocks to range toy status. I'm also interested in the Beretta PX4 series since I carry and M9 at work or going all-in on the 92/M9 family. Really, I just want all of the guns.

Traveling to San Diego today. Been a while since I've been there. I'm not really sure what to expect being there. I've been mulling over weather or not to bring a knife. I don't want to check a bag and even still they can get into my bag and take what they want if I do check anything. So I'm thinking I'll just grab something cheap while I'm down there. It's gonna be rough without my sweetheart bk11 that's been in my back pocket since I got it.

Good luck to ya man. Looking for a better job myself.

Thanks Dubz and good luck to you as well.

Nothing to say? That doesn't keep me or any of these other mooks from posting - shouldn't keep you from doing it, either.

New job - GO!!! Sending you some positive vibes. Waiting on an offer myself - holiday season, tho - promised they would make me an offer, and I believe they will, but the gears of commerce and employment seem to move extra slow this time of year.
Don't be a stranger - even if you're strange ;).

Thanks for the vibes. Seems like everyone is looking for something new to do. Good luck with the new job yourself.

I'll see about posting more. It's been pretty slow around here lately, so a few more posts wouldn't hurt a thing.

Nice looking pooch you have there WW. I think I mentioned that we got a new pup about 2.5 months ago. He's been tons of fun and a challenge as well. Our older dog, Lucky, likes him, but she just needs a break from him once in a while. He's got a ton of energy and he's go go go, but she just likes to chill most of the time.

I was posting a pic of Lucky and Hank, but once it was sized to fit a computer screen, I realized that it sucked. I'll have to get one sometime this week and post it up

I'd pack a folding knife in SoCal.
TSA has been better about not stealing things recently. We pack lots of tools in luggage. Of course I've been doing it in a Pelican zip-tied closed. I think that prevents casual glances, but lets them cut in if there's an actual issue.

I had my knife packed in my Tsa approved gun box to have it checked but I didn't want to risk it.

Decided to buy one to have for down here and leave it at my girlfriend's dad's house. That way it'll be here and I won't have to worry about it for the next trip. Her idea!

Total geek thing. I just scored a dozen dozen (144) of the Cadillac of pencils. Vintage stock. Not made since 1967.
As much as I use a pencil in my job as a girdle inspector, I so appreciate the quality and consistency of the graphite. They are the bee's knees.
I buy them occasionally as they pop up, but now, I probably have enough to last me till I retire.

Dixon Ticonderoga #2....tho I'm partial to the HB. Staedtler-Mars? WTF kinda pencil can you still get that hasn't been made since '67? I'm a total pencil-utensil sorta guy, and I got no clue what you are talking about.....but then again, I'm more into technical pens/Pelikan Graphos/original Pentel QuickerClickers than real wood/graphite sticks. I do appreciate a well made pencil, tho....most of what's made these days is $#!+. Plastic wood, non-concentric, synthetic "lead" and any number of other travesties. The Dixon Tri-Conderoga ain't bad....useless on a tablet or computer screen, tho.....;).

If they're that old, the erasers have probably hardened up to the point of uselessness, so now you'll have to go out and find a bx of those slip-on eraser replacements that haven;t been made since the 1980s.

DT #2 is now made in China and Mexico. Not a bad pencil, but a shade of its former pencil self.

I soak them in secret sauce. Seriously, you can soften them up. Or I just change out the head with one that looks like this.

Do you try to see how many casings you can stack on the bill of your hat?

I really liked the few P320's I've fondled. I was being very tempted by the VP40/VP9, HK P2000 (never could find one to fondle), certified pre owned P229's as well as the SP2022, but I had ultimately decided on a G19.... Until the VP9 deal popped up. I figured it was time to retire my old Gen 2 G22. I do share your sentiment about all of the guns though. Overall, all of the guns are all very nice.

Ok, that is really cool.

Knife geeks, keyboard geeks and now pencil geeks. Love this forum.

For a great sharpener at a reasonable price, check out the Carl A-5 Royal.
There's a grade-down sharpener (the A-5) that Carl manufactures in China.
You want the Royal version made in Japan. As good as some of the German sharpeners that can run into the hundreds of dollars.

Venus Velvet is also The Gunyon's stage name, alter ego, and alias.
It's just an extreme coincidence that he enjoys the pencils with the same name.

Just checked that out. Might have to pick up a new hobby.
