Well I did know exactly where to go :D... It would have been more fun (or frustrating?) if I had to look harder for 'em

Back here pretty soon, found the box of old office goodies. Some of you may like 'em, here's some pics.

Parker Pens, NIB! Only $4.98, lol :D

...
Old callipers and assorted stuff in their original boxes.

...

Cool cool! Fun to dig into that box again :)

cool stuff. i have a bunch of that, esp FaberCastel, esp when i was collecting slide rules - even have some boxes of old pencils...

now i have have to peruse good pencils - you'd think art stores would have that - engineer grade with those cool metal finger holder things?

fountain pens. that's dangerous :D

oof, i has a tired, used the good warm day and remaining light to push through...

bit more to go

IMG_2761-X3.jpg

i'm figuring that's 2.75 cord so far... finish up the roof, and maybe 3.0 cord

Woah, is that for this season or next? Is your nearby sapling going to be the shrinkage sentinel?

it's mostly fresh oak, though inside there's some ugly wood, dry, and what not...

it's also on the "mega platform", and given the scale, i'm hoping it lasts at least a year or two - art :D

i have two other (but smaller) Holz's (one with a face) in a fairly dry condition from last year - ready to go...

however, i also have a few more hours worth of splitting of dry wood if i want, to round those out

good idea on the tree - these things tend to shrink vertically pretty fast - it wouldn't surprise me if it was 2 feet shorter in 9 months at most, esp with a dry Winter

i suppose i should install a rope between trees as a marker.

Looks good Bladite. That's a lot of satisfaction right there.

Husqvarna maul?

a lot of sore right now too to push through ... bit more to go, some topping if i want...

yup, one of the two i regularly use, with custom paracord protection, probably actually Wetterling, forged

sometimes i go back to the Fiskars or the Tomahawk splitter

i have a Husqvarna polymer axe - it's batshit good... i might consider their splitter next year, if it's as good as the axe, it's a winner

Nice. It may sound crazy, but I enjoy that kind of sore.:D

One of the clubs I'm in at school gets all of our fundage from selling firewood. So I've been splitting more firewood in the past few months than probably the rest of my life beforehand.

Our piles don't stick around long enough to get that big, so it is pretty cool to see so much of it stacked in one place nice and neat like.

There's a story on fountain pens, I can feel it!

Nice wood stack, Bladite. We also have quite an extensive wood supply that we chopped up, but the last couple of years it didn't get cold enough to actually use any. This time around though it's freezing pretty hard so I guess we'll go back to the wood. Fun times!

yeah

kinda weird - i worked a half day outside, splitting wood, stacking - VERY tired after but glorious. had wine, a fair bit of food, crashed 4 hours ago. boing. up.

takes "a while" to season, and the longer i don't use it, the dryer it is. oak moastly this time. more of an art thing this time.

the two smaller existing piles like that, are "burn as needed", one of them is 3/4 done, the other should be good enough, but again, the longer, the better.

have a cord or so on the porch "ready as is" plus a few hundred of the "hearthwise" techno compressed logs (no glue! embers for 9-10 hours)

i've learned it's nice to have a small, mellow, warm fire, for pyro nature, and it's comforting, without needing much fuel (branches work great - i keep some brush piles, and then fill some boxes with lopped bits)...

though it's super good, 3 Winters ago (THE BIG ONE), i lost power for 5+ days. kept the place toasty, i'll tell ya what.

Crap... I thought this thread was about which existing Beckers you'd keep in the line up.
In this case...

24" Bastard Becker
with Unicorn scales and
+2Vit +3Str +2Dex +2Agi
+5%dmg +3%crit rate +5%crit dmg
+3Eva&Def with low HP
Haste +5%
Effect: Dual wield
Rare/exclusive (cannot be sold or traded)
Obtained from NPC Merchant
Lvl99

well, if we're going to keep them, back to basics ... improve the basics, make them cheaper to make for KaBar (leave those tangs along), leave the spines alone === less work more profit. also nicer knives imho. we've seen some breakage on the skeleton side. cheap fix :D

as for dual wielding...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmG-r6wrAw8

yeah, blood on that one, good thing not sharp... though, his "friends"... idiots all of them. stop filming.

speaking of... i kind of want a "Super Assassin" by Dan Kefeler or something now :D or two. dual wielding is for people who like ER.

a Musashi folded katana at $200 looks neat, but let's face it, i'm more Chinese Dao / Asian broadsword kinda dude... round eye no need katana... just an oversized farm tool :)

though, a really sweet taichi style sword (in wood too), for forms :D slow. fun.

Does everyone understand the term "punch your clock" ?

Am i sayin it wrong?....

So i came up with this... "Our doors are locked our guns are cocked, If you don't knock we'll punch your clock"

And i was going to see about having a couple signs made... But my wife says.... What does punch your clock mean?...

And then i wondered... Hmm... Is that a common saying?

the kind of people that would rob you know...

"your clock will be punched by Glock, and your flesh eaten by crocs..."

Around here it isn't a common saying, but it is an easy play on words to understand.

How about, "our doors are locked and our guns are loaded. If you don't knock your going to get folded".

Jeremy

Haha! But this is an anti-glock household... We allow Springfield, S&W, ruger, Beretta, HK, ....actually anything other than glock LMAO!

the common man doesn't know the good stuff ;)

you forgot steyr - glock is possibly known for polymer pistols but steyr fixed their mistakes... $250 for a 9mil back in the day ;)

Springfield XDM 5.5 inch or something. hot damn. 9, 40 (me), 45, 10mm double stack torpedoes away.

though, 30 rounds in the mag is just a fun way of saying hello! (a few guns do this)

now i wanna buy another gun.
