The wifers got me a Rinaldi Trento from Baryonyx. 'Twas my b-day yesterday:

Hate indoor photos, but I just had to do it. What a beast:

Sure makes my Roselli look small. Of course, it is small:

We got 1" of snow last night and above freezing temps w/ rain this morning, and I wake up to an alert from my (community) college that classes before 10am are cancelled for snow reasons. I haven't had a snow day in 3 years and my 2nd-to-last school day EVER is a snow day? Just because of 1 inch of snow total?

Oh well, Monday morning and Tuesday finals and I'm done with my degree, then I can go back to having a normal work schedule and actual free time again.

Yeah I had to stay at home with my daughter this morning because of a 2 hr. late start...

Congrats on the impending degree YoungMC!!::thumbup:

Sweet, Dubz!!
Can't wait to see it in action.

I could run a bead, usually without sticking the rod, but when I say I can't weld, I mean that I don't have a whole lot of confidence in anything I weld staying together. I was always much better at melting stuff with an oxyacetylene torch.

Wood? I can do most anything I want with wood, given the time and tools. Grew up working in my uncle's wood shop. Later worked as a grunt laborer, a carpenter, and a crew chief in various construction jobs. The crew chief job convinced me I never wanted to be a contractor. Subcontractors suck. Never on time and always take longer than they estimate. Too much stress. In my current job as a girdle inspector, I only have to rely on myself. And I get to use special pencils.

Girdle inspector?

Thanks :) It's been a long time coming.

I already have my diploma, this last class wasn't technically required for the degree but I took it because I didn't know that when I was signing up for it, got told it wasn't required about 2/3rds of the way through and got my diploma earlier this week. It's all done and over with but for posterity I'm finishing up the class anyways.

#1 tip i got for welding - esp aluminum - clean clean clean and then clean some more. lots of that shiny bright aluminum plate has a polymer coating on it, and nothing stick to that shit. GRIND IT OFF :D

Weld only sticks to base metal, and aluminum oxidizes fast, really in minutes, if not seconds. Aluminum oxide is some hard stuff too!

That is one sweet griddle! Makes me want to make one again...

Looking at the Stihl MS 180...

Better option under 300?

Don't need a very big chainsaw... Mostly only need to cut 10-12" wide, or smaller, trees/branches.

MY #1 tip for welding: call Hans.

Picked up a MS 180 C-BE this morning... They were out of regular ms 180s... Hopefully the easy start system isnt the weak link...

Gratz Warrior.

Some time ago, I was able to attend a beer tasting, similar to a whine tasting I guess but with lesser known beers from smaller breweries. One of them was 'Gouden Arend' (Golden Eagle), but the special edition they've been brewing since their 125th birthday on, every month of September for the last couple of years. It was simply amazing. Today I found a beershop that carries +800 different brands of beer that also had these special editions in stock. Probably not surprised that I bought all the bottles (8 total, they're 75cl bottles with a cork head). These are gonna be some sweet Christmas gifts for family & friends. Gonna keep 2 myself though, lol.
