• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Cliff Stamp Has Passed Away

RIP Cliff.
He was a giant in the knife community.

I definitely learned a good deal about sharpening from his forum and videos.

His videos were one of my main sources of information on how to chop and about edge alignment when I first started getting into blades, Plus they were just straight entertaining.
The contributions and knowledge he gave will go one to teach many many more.

RIP

RIP, Cliff Stamp.

I never met Cliff, but I had a lot of respect for him and missed his contributions online when they mostly stopped. We need more people like him.

I remember him from the days of usenet groups and email lists, long before forums such as this existed. I think he made some huge contributions to the knife community, particularly in the area of applying critical thinking and systematic, scientific processes to testing and analysis.

Geometry cuts. As a scientist I appreciated his methodology and rigor. He had a highly tuned bullshit meter, and would go back to the literature, or test for himself. His patience to make hundreds of cuts, or yards of cardboard was amazing. Combined with his well known interpersonal skills made me think that there is a very good chance he had Aspergers Syndrome. It is a loss for the knife world.

RIP Cliff. Used to love watching him debate people who couldn't debate while keeping his cool as the other side melted down.

He had a 100 times the knife knowledge I have and was almost as likeable as I am. Great contributor before getting the boot from here (and some other places).

He will be remembered.

He selflessly provided a wealth of knowledge concerning knives to common non-industry people. I don't know of anyone that can take his place.

RIP

Such sad news. I have really enjoyed Cliff’s youtube channel and the knowledge and testing he so freely shared. Go in peace.
