Is that what u needed the portable stove for fug!?
Great Idea!
Smoked sausage!

I think this is his excuse to run through Boys Town next time. Plausible deniability.
Haha

You know, the Chicago Marathon runs through Boys Town.
They put on a hell of a show in their cowgirl outfits
with high boots and skirts...
Everyone seems to run just a little faster
through boys town. :D

good morning!
I hate having to work on Saturday, but
work is work,,gotta take it when its there.
Have to change a sump pump this morning.
Lucky we are working is inside this morning,

Fug, LOL, I thought I emailed the Internet Gods to erase every copy of that pic. I guess it didn't work.

No milk for breakfast today, or ever again.:D

Guyon, looks like you had a great time with the youngin'.
I have to ask about your stove setup.
I am looking for a really small stove I can carry with me
on some of these long winter runs.I want to stop at
the halfway and make a cup or hot chocolate or tea.
I have been looking at making a "penny stove" from
a heiniken can. I will need to get a titanium cup to use
as the pot to boil water, but cant find one with a lid.
Your pot looks kinda big,is it stainless steel?
How long about does it take to boil water?
Need a windscreen?

It's a Super Cat Stove. Costs less than a buck to make.

All you'd ever want to know about the SC stove here: http://jwbasecamp.com/Articles/SuperCat/index.html

Mine has what's called a "Second Generation" stand: http://jwbasecamp.com/Articles/SuperCat/Stand2/index.html

I do need to make a wind break for it. Filled with denatured alcohol, it burns about ten minutes and will boil water in about five.

I have a couple of other backpack stoves. I have a Brasslite, which is another alcohol stove. When I overnight, I general carry an MSR Pocket Rocket along with my MSR Titan Kettle. REI had an MSR combo deal a while back, and I couldn't resist this set-up.

There is some discussion of stoves in this recent WS&S thread where I posted the same hiking pics: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=705338

Gnite shadow...

Funny story
went running late this afternoon
wore my running shorts with long pants over them
just like a nylon pants, not insulated or anything.
well,i wear this combo all the time and never had a problem.
i run first half of the run into the wind, then
coast home the second half.
so at 8 miles i go to turn around and man,i got something
wrong in johnsonville
i take off my glove and stick my hand in my shorts...
little willy was smaller than ever, and half frozen!
scared the shit outta me. took 1/2 mile walking with my hand
cupped over my package before i could
start running again.

You need to duct tape some of those activated carbon hand warmers to your johnson next time. :p

Or maybe you could just squat over a Pocket Rocket stove about the 8-mile mark. :D

Seriously, here is my MSR set-up. I took this pic on its first test run. Requires fuel cannisters, but they nest nicely inside the Titan Kettle.

If I were running and needed to carry something ultra-lite though, I'd think about the Super Cat along with a small fuel bottle (full of denatured alcohol) and a Ti mug and maybe a simple aluminum foil windbreak.
