My friend has a mutt.
giant dog,lotta shepard and great dane in it.
had arthritis and they put the dog on
glucosamine supplement and some pain med like tylenol or something.
over time they took him off the pain meds and
the glucosamine treatment really helped the dog!

I know some dog foods have glucosamine in it
but evidently no where near as effective as a
suppliment that you add or mix to the food yourself.

Did the vet prescribe anything for Jack?

Sorry to hear about Jack - Fug has a good point - Is the Gluco with MSM OK for dogs?
 
They x rayed him,, his back is ok.. Just some flatening in his hip joints,, they gave him a shot of a medicine, and he has to take meds twice a day, and see how that helps, he has been havin some trouble jumping and climbing stairs, he will be ok,, thanks guys
 
My shepard has hip displasia and we give him Glucosamine and K-9 aspirin and it makes a huge difference.Before he was in a lot of pain and grumpy all the time now he is back running and playing. smoke sent for jack.

A little less weight to carry 'round would be good for Jack,,,

At least, that what's the doctor keeps saying to me aswell :D
 
Well getting all my stuff in order for my knee relacement surgurey in the morning. I hate being in a hospital. when they put me out I will have to dream of my chopper I have J making me.
