Check with the BF poster Morimotom. He KNOWS Glocks. I'd defer to his expert judgment.

Thanks OP, I've sent him an email,,,

Good luck with the blood giving, Filip,,, hope they have some nice cookies and coffee for you afterwards ! (that's what you get when you give blood overhere)

Thanks Chibbi :) I did OK. Low blood pressure, but the doc says it's within the limit. Better than too high, I guess. No cookies here, just rolls. And coffee and tea - both are OK, but the coffee is too weak for me (not complainig, just saying).
Have a nice day everyone!

Merry Christmas

Filip, start grinding knives for a living, I hear it will raise your blood pressure real quick. That was very cool of you to give blood, btw.

Morning

Great advice, Brian! I'd like to grind knives as a hobby once, that might work less, so I'd get the pressure higher, but not too much, don't you think? :D
I'm 3 donations from a silver medal for 20 volunteer donations :) And I know there are much more advanced donors than me in the Club here ;)

^ Very educative, Cabra! :D

Hey, folks. I'm headed out of town after some miserably busy weeks. (Good thing) Y'all have a very merry Christmas, and stay safe!!

Chibs... Hold out for the Gen 3. Tried and true. I took an armorers course a while back, and learned to love the simplicity and functionality. And I'm strictly a 1911 guy. :D

Got an answer from Morimotom today,,, here's what he had to say, for those interested,,,

hi ray,

there are a few notable differences between the 3rd and 4th gen glocks, most notably the recoil system. the 4th gen have new double springs which are supposed to reduce the flip of the .40 cal. i haven't shot one though.

they also have an interchangeable backstrap, which i am not particularly fond of (in general). but in and of itself, it wouldn't prevent me from owning a 4th gen.

the new mags also have cutouts on both sides so the mag release can be switched to lefty. this should not affect the use of any mags in either gen.

the grip texturing has changed as well, it looks to be less aggressive.

the only real drawback i see is the recoil springs are not interchangeable, so the armory (or you) would have to purchase the newer ones.

unless you are really set on a gen 3, i see no reason not to take the deal on the new model.

hope that helps,
mark

Going to call my local gunshop one more time to get a definite delivery date on the GEN 3,,, I can wait 'till the first week of January no probs,,, if it's gonna take longer I'm going with the GEN 4,,,

Have a great holiday James and be safe. That goes for the rest of the club. Not sure how much I will be on here in the next few weeks myself. Have a great holiday. I'll be thinking about the club and check in.
