C'mon man, really????

Don't want to derail this thread, but since the OP hasn't been back .....

Wanted to point out that, unless something changed very recently, the feedback system WILL accept feedback left resulting from a sale made through the WTB forum. I know, because I did it not long ago for someone selling me a knife based on my post. The "Add Feedback" links are active and the system permits their use (assuming a reply to the WTB post was made).

I tried just this week and it came up with oops and a list of qualified areas, and WTB was not on it. In the past I am pretty sure I was able to leave feedback from WTB, so I am guessing it is a pretty recent change
I have had pretty good luck with WTB's. Certainly can't hurt to try.

Depends...
Not everybody looks at the WTB ads; but maybe the ad got the seller to thinking about his. It could also be that the seller made an offer, but the two didn't come to an agreement; so the knife got posted. There's also the potential for an agreement having been made, and the knife subsequently being posted for sale...specifically for the purpose of using the feedback system (since WTB ads are not eligible)

Yeah, there are many possibilities.

This one sucks, because I think you were right to ask questions, but if I'm the seller and I have one guy asking questions and four more offering money in hand I see no reason to wait on the guy asking about the condition. Just tell yourself the blade was rubbing the liner to make yourself feel better and keep your eyes peeled for the next one.

Yep. You snooze, you lose, simple as that.

Yep, but if they want to give their buddies first choice and disregard 'the first I'll take it', why don't they just send an email to their buddies saying that they are going to sell it, and would they like to have it? It sounds simple to me and doesn't cause bad blood among members on the forum.

Sellers aren't really saying that because they only want to sell to a friend. There are any number of reasons that would disqualify someone from being sold to. Maybe the seller doesn't want to deal with people who are a hassle, or maybe he's got somebody blocked and so wouldn't sell to them. Heh, there are some members here that I Am Not Cool With, and if they responded to my sales thread, I'd immediately be like "KNIFE STILL AVAILABLE". I am under no obligation to sell it to someone I choose not to do business with, for any reason. And if you're a seller, you also have this right.

And some say that they reserve the right to sell or not to sell to whomever they choose. That's cool. But if someone says that the first 'I'll take it, gets it', then the first I'll take it should get it.
Again, that's entirely situational.

I also have a list of people on my ignore list.

It includes abrasive, rude, and a host of people I've added from the GBU feedback.

Often, it is the person who starts a GBU thread to complain about another member....

When I look at the situation, and how the OP comports themselves, I add OP to the list.....I don't want to deal with people who whine, and can't handle missing out on a knife....and come here to whine, and carry on.

Often, a person who starts the thread ends up on the old ignore list....

Many times the party attacked, as here....is blameless, and the effect of the thread is the opposite the OP expects.

I'll leave it to your imagination as to which party here was added to the ignore/do not deal with list....

With only being here a short time and now posting a second complaint about situations in the Exchange, maybe participating in the other areas of the forum will help smooth things over? D Dlegal95
