For Feedback- I'd wait until you get the knife, get a refund or get reimbursed from Paypal. Then the transaction would be complete and corresponding feedback should be left.

If only it were that simple. If you can understand what constitutes a "completed transaction" for purpose of leaving feedback, you're a better man (I assume) than I.

I don't think I'm supposed to leave negative feedback, only if I don't get my money back, it doesn't sound right but I guess that the way it is

Hey Charles!!
Shoot Rev Devil a PM to find out if it's cool to leave neg feedback brother.......this guy definitely deserves it!!

can't argue with that
I understand what they were trying to achieve with the writing-avoid retaliatory feedback, and I don't doubt that it is clear as day to those that wrote it, but there is a certain amount of counter intuitiveness to it that makes it very confusing to many members. I think running it by a mod. is the best way, since penalties for mistakes are pretty harsh.
My interpretation- this would be a no feedback if he gets his money back-at that point there was no completed transaction and no loss. There is a huge positive bias to the rating system, but as moderators have said in the past, it is very popular. It is much easier to rate and check then using this sub forum, but you get so much more here IMO.

OP-sorry to hear about your bad transaction but PP should be able to resolve it for you. Hopefully this thread will help others avoid problems in the future.

IMO the feedback system is worthless on BF. Just look at my transaction with cncmaster43 for example...2 weeks to receive the knife, poor communication, numerous lies, terrible shipping method. Shouldn't that be something to warn others about? Yet my fear of him leaving retaliatory feedback is sadly worth more to me than warning others.

Just to be fair to BF-This is their feedback section, the other came with the system that the forum runs on.

Spark's been pretty good about removing retaliatory feedback latly. Not to mention they get a 30 point permanent infraction now. More than halfway to a perma-ban.

I bought three knives from Cncmaster43 a few weeks back. He shipped three fixed blade knives in an ENVELOPE. I opened the mailbox to find the envelope torn apart with three knives laying on top of it. Definitely do not deal with this guy.

I'd have to agree, almost misleading if you go by the feedback. Probably best just to use this forum to research a member

Trouble is, a lot of people don't know that. They see 100% feedback on someone, think they're good to go.

I ask for references if they dont have 100% or I have never sold/bought from them
A few folks refused to supply that..Ironically enough 2 of the 4 I asked for references
are/where on now Banned
Crap like this needs to be dealt with
Cover yourself
Ask questions.
Tell the seller if they do not ship by the day stated or lack of communication
You will file an immediate claim
That gets their ears perked up Right Now
It has happened to me..
If it feels funny or you are unsure..Ask as many questions as you need
to..If the sellers communication and EXCUSES are all over the place.
I would reach out to a MOD (Rev-Devil would be a good start) Get them involved...Then follow proper
procedure and let seller know you are taking steps..

I sure do hope this works out..
Its funny This guys reputation is all over here and..NO WORD FROM HIM..
Makes one curious...

In my opinion this is exactly the kind of information that should have been brought to everyone's attention in this sub-forum when it happened. If people do not call out other people on their bad behavior or poor practices when such things occur, then nothing will ever change. In fact, had this information been made public before Cncmaster43's current shenanigans, he might still be sitting on a few knives unable to sell them and the OP might never have been put in a position where he has to deal with this bologna.

The feedback system on BF's might not be perfect but it's far from being worthless.

You had a completed transaction so why would you feel that if you left him feedback it would have been retaliatory ? You would have been well within your rights to have left feedback if you had chosen to do so. If cncmaster43 in turn would have left you negative feedback after you did so, that would have been retaliatory and he would have received an infraction for it.

Obviously another option would have been to start a thread in GBU as Charles713 did.

Yup. Ask a mod. No reason to let this be confusing.

I'd be interested in knowing how you interpret this (from the feedback rule) in a case where a buyer never receives his knife, never gets satisfaction from the seller, but does get reimbursed by PP: "If a deal did not happen, there is no iTrader Feedback to leave. Sorry if you were inconvenienced, but life is full of disappointments. As long as you are not out any items or money, move along."

It doesn't matter a a damn how I interpret this rule. I'd ask a mod. That is why I recommended asking a mod.

You'll likely regret asking that question. The seasoned BF members know to let CT talk and just not listen...

I was just curious, not being provocative. I think the rule is way less than clear. You spend a lot of time in GBU and I thought you might have an opinion on it. If not, no problem.
