Coffee

It's always good to mix it up once in a while even if you have an origin that is a regular choice.
Yea it is. I was getting a little bored with natural Ethiopians and when I got that drip blend as a gift it brought back some good memories ha. It’s basically their rotating house blend and has a taste like diner coffee but a lot smoother/cleaner. I’ve had good luck with Guatemalans before, Colombia is usually a pretty safe bet as well

Don't think I mentioned that I recently picked up one of these Bodum pour overs similar to a Chemex but with a mesh filter. It gives a bit of variety for brewing instead of using the Clever Dripper. I almost grabbed a french press, but decided to go with this instead.

It’ll usually give a “brighter” cup in my experience

I have read good things about "Stumptown" and I saw a bunch of different varieties yesterday evening and I thought I'd give them a try. The only one I've read a lot about is Hair Bender, but it's a dark / espresso roast, and although that was mostly what I brewed for years, I've mostly been off dark roasts for a couple of years now - I think too much flavor is lost or distorted by over roasting . . . might as well use cheap beans.

Anyway, I didn't know what to buy so just by gut feel I grabbed this.

Don't know if anyone here has ever tasted it, but I'll try to post my thoughts in a couple of days.

Maybe you already knew, but Peet's bought Stumptown, and a privately-held German conglomerate bought Peet's . . . and Douwe Egberts, and Caribou Coffee (and Panera, and Krispy Kreme, and Einstein Bagels, and Brueggers Bagels, and . . . ).

So Stumptown, Peet's, Caribou, etc. are all just part of the same brand now. Like Starbucks and Seattle's Best.

How about some good o Cowboy Coffee ~ Most people believe or are under the impression Coffee is bad for you ....... But Truth be known it is actually Good for You and has a number of Healthy Benefits' ~ Folger's Coffee

I’ve had stumptown hair bender before. It wasn’t bad at all. I don’t remember it being a dark roast tho, beans weren’t oily anyway and I’m not a fan of dark roast

My five year old son has been obsessed with cowboy coffee this week for some reason. We’ve watched that same video, funny you posted it. He’s wanting to make some. Told him I’d do it this weekend, I’m hoping he forgets haha

Cowboy Kent Rollins!!! LOVE his YouTube videos - especially on cast iron and cooking with cast iron. That dude should have his own show on Food Network or the Cooking Channel. Intellectually it doesn't seem to me like that coffee would be all that good . . . but he STILL makes me want to try it!

So now that I've brewed a couple of pots of Stumptown Homestead , , , I like it!

I would say it is more of a light roast than a medium roast. The aroma is incredible. Lots of good scents, backed up by good flavor. I could say that I detected a nutty (pecan?) flavor with some earthiness and hints of chocolate. I didn't detect any burnt or off flavors. But mostly, to me it smells and tastes like COFFEE. I might go as far as to say that it is the coffee-ist tasting coffee I've ever had.

Recommended.

7. Coffee is now grown alongside the avocado as part of an experimental project Southern California . New Coffee farms between San Diego and Santa Barbara are growing Coffee under the canopies of old avocado trees. When successful, the United States will become a major coffee producer.

Information was found using https://www.50states.com/ web page - "California" a lot of trivia and State Facts and History on this page ~ "Fun Page to Visit"
