Coffee

Spyderco Persian tonight. I've had this one for a long time and just started warming up to it. Way more ergonomic than my original impressions.
Not Persian coffee though. I'll have to give it a try sometime.

...and my wife wonders why I have furthered my knife sickness to Spyderco. I blamed you!

This is my latest acquisition.... I wish I would have bought one sooner!

These beans are from a coworker. The plain brown bag said, "Holiday Blend". Brewed up it tastes like Caribou- Caribou Blend. No complaints at all.

Hey Barman!

May I ask where you got your clip/who made it? I love it with that cross right there. Subtle but distinctive :)

I picked up a couple of them on the big auction site. Titanium and not cheap but I really liked the styling so....

It is not coffee but I have been drinking Chaga tea instead of coffee sometimes. It is interesting and provides a clean burst if energy.

Have you been to "Proof" bakery on Atwater?

I've had a bunch of the standards, Blue Bottle, Stump Town, Bows and Arrows. I think my favorite was "Suits and Knives" Dempsey Espresso (Leo from Coffee Colab DTLA was always hanging out at Taza and by default there was always some Dempsey there)

The Owner of Proof, hooked me up with some "Heart" coffee. My absolute favorite at the moment.

Next time you are at Taza try one of these Gravity Syphon extractors... Makes for some incredibly smooth coffee.
Happy Thanksgiving one and all![/IMG]

If you are talking about Cogniscenti, no but I have been to their Culver City location and been to the True and the Brave in Atwater. I haven't seen suits and knives sold in any of the places I have been to but I know they have been roasting for a long time in LA. Lots of great coffee in LA and since they are clustered it makes it really easy to visit multiple places. If you look back at some of my older posts I did cafe jumps in each of the the areas of LA and the East Valley. Thanks for the advice.

Spaced out !

I've only been to the Atwater local, I'll have to check out True & The Brave next time i'm in the area, thanks for the heads up!

I have a can of Folgers Classic Roast and some Maxwell House all boxed up and ready to ship. I also picked up a box cutter (with extra blades) at the dollar store. I hope my secret Santa feller is happy to open this box!!! :D I might ship tomorrow.

Three Kenyan coffees from left to right roasted to 396 ˚F, 400 ˚F and 405 ˚F. there's a slight change in the bean color visible, and you'll notice that the 405 ˚F roast is beginning to secrete some surface oils.

60 grams of each coffee was weighed out, but, it's clear that the lighter roast takes up less volume in the glass while the darker roast takes up more. This is do to the continued release of water moisture as the roast progresses.

From a Bruer blog.

Lots of good places out east I still have to go to like Klatch. Hit me up if you ever want to go on a coffee jump.
Here's a link to my coffee tour of the East Valley starting at post# 512. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1129121-Coffee?p=13972776#post13972776

The Dia De Los Puercos lunch truck will be at TAZA in Arcadia.
