Coffee

I've been having an ongoing argument with a friend about the Ottomatic.
My argument is why spend the $350 for something I can do better for far less $$
All the machine is going to do is heat and disperse water?? I can do that.
He doesn't see that the machine isn't really eliminating enough of the process to make it worth the $$

I completely agree with you its not worth the money especially when made by hand will probably still taste better. Your frankenstein blade looks awesome!

Thanks.
I keep a bunch of Enduras and parts around just for modification purposes. Keeps me entertained.

A quick shot with Orchunter93's Black and Tan Blend. Delicious. I'll get some tasting notes when I have more time.
My Tatanka and Sprint S110V Native 5 with some new scales I just got today.

I'll use the same line here that usually gets me in trouble while I'm out and about.... "My, what a lovely pair you've got there" :D

Thank you, they're a fine pair. ;)

Wayne,

Do you have a favorite knife?? I guess I'll ask that to everyone.

Tough question, convoluted answer.
I've had some customs that could be considered perfect but, I can't bring myself to really use a $1000 knife.
That's why I gravitate towards Spyderco I guess. Variety, quality, and a price that doesn't make me wince when I scrape over a staple opening a box. Still bums me out a little though.
I have been moving more toward their US made models lately so the Native 5 G-10 would probably be my favorite right now. My 2 carbon (1 modded with Kevlar) S110V are somewhat of a upgrade but the S35VN is no slouch.
As for their non-US made, the Gayle Bradley. Fantastic ergos and the M4 steel really performs.

Sorry, but I finished my coffee while I was contemplating this question so just the knives in this photo.

Yes they do.
I had them made to match the grips and style of my PPK/s.

Stunning!:thumbup: I want matching scales for my spyderco mule and knobs for my espresso machine. I haven't figured out what wood to use yet? Any suggestions?

My favorite folders are made by Ray Laconico. My favorite Laconico is my Integrated double Bolstered Frame Lock with silver LSCF and matching hardware.

beautiful P.E.!!

This is my favorite (so far). Garrison Knives 154 Cpm with desert iron wood grips. 10" OL

That looks like it would be useful in the kitchen. Why don't you go slice up a tomato... :D
I wanna see some patina on these knives around here.

It's pretty thick 3/16". It slices....it dices...

This is my favorite folder with some coffee I was gifted on my mail route. These beans are nice and oily. Great flavor for super dark roast.

This is my Favorite folder. I'm almost certain my wife got a large Wilson Combat Starbenza. Will have to wait and see until Christmas day though!

On a whim I picked up some whole foods Manhattan blend. It was a bit bitter. I'm going to try the cold brew process as soon as I get some time.

Nice equipment you have there, thanks for sharing.:)

..........

Thank you. I find it hits the happy medium with ease of use, but still damn good coffee. One feature I really like is the steel carafe. It keeps the coffee hot for hours with no heating element, thus no bitterness.

I'm still looking at options for the espresso maker. I'm trying to figure how much I'll use it before I commit a chunk of $$$. If I'll use it as often as I use my coffee maker, I don't mind ponying up some cash.

My wife always says, "I never know what to get you". She is afraid that she will buy a crappy knife and pay way too much for it.

Merry Christmas my friends!!!

I think if I had $350 to pee away on a coffee maker I would buy a Technivorm Moccamaster and I would have a few bucks left over. (Or maybe just keep the $350 ;))

The afternoon wasn't bad for me! But best of all I have my siblings and my wife's siblings over.
