I received another awesome package in the mail yesterday.... Spyderco Mule ELMAX and a BK9!! Does it get any better than that?! Thanks to brother Wayne my wallet has a bunch more room in it.....:o That is a fresh bag o' Death Wish too!

Sweet Mono, both are pretty awesome knives! Congrats! :thumbup: Whose scales are those on the Mule?

I got a new knife too. :D Here is my James Terrio Handmade Knives custom "Fugitive". 6.5" of 0.22" thick Elmax at 60 Rc. OD green G10 hand-smoothed scales with forest green liners and mosaic pins I chose. Tapered tang too. It's perfect!!! :cool:

:eek: I love that knife. You should be very proud of that piece.

I'll let Wayne chime in on the scales. They are camo layers with red liners, but you really can't tell from the pic.

I picked up the Mule scales on Ebay. Can't remember the seller or maker though.
I made the liners to fatten up the handle a little.

Yeah, I am extremely happy with how my Fugitive turned out! My first true custom knife. :cool:

Some of the nicest I've seen. I have been thinking about doing something similar for my 4v Mule, but maybe making them myself with some Shadetree micarta of some sort. If you recall the maker, please let me know, thanks!
 
Todd Carmichael has a new series on the Travel Channel called Uncommon Grounds. I just watched the one where he went Jamaica hoping to buy Blue Mountain coffee. At $50 per kilo of green coffee he said that he can't compete with all the fake stuff sold in the US. Most of the stuff labeled as Jamaica Blue Mountain is fake. The real stuff would cost about $45 a pound. Interesting.
 
Interesting. I'll have to see if one of my many TV subscriptions have this. What network had it on?

They don't seem to rerun these. I don't know why. Maybe they have limited interest. Dangerous Grounds got very high ratings, but they rarely rerun it.

When Travel Channel switched to premium here I just let it go but a few interesting shows migrated there and I subscribed.
It was a 2-3 year gap since I'd watched the channel and it was like I never left. All of the exact same shows rerunning with only a couple of new shows.
I dropped them after a year.
Definitely enjoyed Dangerous Grounds though.

I know we don't have the people in this thread like we once did, but here goes........

It is time to start getting the Secret Santa Exchange together. Same rules as last year and same budget. Deadline to enter will be Nov. 30. I will draw names on Dec. 1. So you have time to get your stuff (knives and coffee) :D. Items must be received BEFORE Dec. 24th, but the sooner the better.... It makes it more fun!
I will post the official rules and budget shortly.

Post in this thread if you want in.
