Cold Steel ads, the very worst.

Hollywood stars and Rock Musicians are well aware that there is no such thing as "bad publicity". Anything that gets their name mentioned (good or bad) makes them more famous and, as a result, demand for their services goes up. Lynn Thompson is no dummy when it comes to marketing and we are proof of it.

Your experience with the Vonage ad actually proves that it did work on you. You remembered it, which is all they are shooting for. Same with CS. You remember it so it worked.

Big difference. Nothing on the planet would motivate me to buy anthing from Vonage. I remember the name and the ads but in a negative light. They have turned me off completely. I think their purpose is to advertise so someone will remember the name and buy their product.

I don't remember Cold Steel from ads. I deal with their products every day. No reason for me even to see one of their ads.

Hurt feelings? In a cold steel thread?
I was thinking the same thing. :D Let's keep in mind that this particular thread deals with the DVDs only. Even the op said he didn't have anything against their knives. I like a great many of CS's products, and I haven't had any customer service issues with them either, but I can still enjoy a laugh at some of their marketing tactics. ;)

I agree with you completely. I also would never consider Vonage or any of the other obnoxious advertisers ("Don't bother me. . . I'm eating" for one). Unfortunately, the statistics show that these ads work. A sad comment on the state of the general publics mentality but true nonetheless. Think "lowest common denominator".

I have no problem with Cold Steel's ads as long as they make unique knives that are not stolen from others and are made from high end materials with American craftmanship.

Wonder where they get the music? Drives me insane.

Seeing Lynn Thompson trying to strike a fierce posture is almost too much, though.

From his porno movies?..........................:jerkit:

He really over swings his target, like there's no control.

Hell, I barely knew what a knife was. I've been stabbing car doors with a spoon for years, and am thankful for the knowledge that there are better tools for the job.

Wow, I feel better. Now I know that I was the only one doing that...........................

I think Firestone would disagree with that.
