cold steel awesome

I've been nothing sort of satisfied with my purchases from CS. The folders sport more than serviceable steel, however many feel it's lackluster in the face of its competition. Even at that I believe that the Triad-lock more than reconciles this shortcoming. My Medium Voyager was my go to, for some time, and could take a downright scary edge. I learned not to underestimate AUS-8, when it has a decent heat treat. I wish they would dabble with some more wear resistant stuff, though.

Let's see just sitting on or near my desk I have a Lawman, AK-47, Rajah 2, a Spartan, and a Beaver tail mini tac. if that gives any indication of my thoughts on cold steel.

If only they would make a lawman with a more sheeple friendly name/color, I would buy 10 and be content for life.

The OP's new CS knives are so sharp they appear to have cut all the punctuation out of his post lol (just messin'). I've been using Cold Steel knives for 25 years now and they've never let me down.

I like some of the designs, although some of them are obviously marketed towards the mall ninja crowd.
I just wish they'd use better steel/materials.
A Spartan with a decent steel and milled G10 scales would be awesome.
I love the triad lock.

Cold Steel puts out some nice stuff. I just wish they would have more variation in blade steels. Note I'm not saying better as that's pretty subjective. I'm talking about different so you can choose the exact model you like. Example, look how many different versions of the military or P2 Spyderco has released, or in the works. It would be awfully nice to be able to choose say a Makinaw hunter in CPM 154, or a Voyager in CPM M4. Maybe I'm getting spoiled though.

They have some cool stuff but I typically have to do a lot of waiting, and like Mr. Ford the First said, any color you want as long as it's black.

This thread is short on pics...

sorry about spelling alot of posts are on my phone when wifes not looking and kids are hanging on my arms.

I really want an American Lawman, but I'd only buy one with a stripped blade. Not a big fan of the coating.

...and then there's the other part of me that wants a shiny Espada XL. Ugh.

I feel the same way about the AL, I wish they'd make a stonewashed version.

As far as the Espada goes, I got the medium Espada , beautiful knife in a more manageable size ( even though I'd love to get the large one).

Jpd1998 thanks for my pic and how to post it helped a lot. The blue black g10 was very cheap less than five dollars and looks to be high quality it was easy since there's only Two holes to drill.

You right on that one bro. I don't know why people hate cold steel so bad and the lawman is very underrated blade.

I have to admit to kind of liking some of their knives. I've been using a mini tuff lite for some carving/whittling work and it's really a very nice little knife.

Too much of the "KOOOL NIFE" look for me in their products and the components are not bad but just basically good enough to be useful.

components just good enough to be useful? can you expand on that one?
example, the American Lawman:
Adequate steel; tough, will not chip, holds edge reasonably. Undeniably the strongest lock on the market in a all G10 handle with perfectly symmetrical machining/sculpting. No wiggle in any direction on these models. Light and affordable, that to me is more than "good enough to be useful".

I bought a CS Recon 1 four years ago, have carried it almost everyday since then, have used it a lot, and it's still in great shape. I stripped and polished the coating and it looks great, still the solid knife I bought four years ago. I also own the spartan, trench hawk, leatherneck SF, and counter point 1. I have yet to have a problem with this company, and to me the videos are simply comedic.

I've got to agree with you.
I have quite a few of their knives , 4 with the Tri Ad lock and I can't imagine anything stronger.

Most of their knives are priced right so there' s no reason to baby them.
I use my Rajah II for all kinds of yard work, including chopping branches and saplings.
