Cold Steel Chaos has arrived

For some reason I assumed the handles were polypropylene, not metal. Must have been the promotional images.

I'm no steel expert but from what I've read and researched sk-5 is a good steel choice for this kind of knife.

The handle is alumi and very ergonomic. I have large glove size hands and the groves in the handle fit my hand perfectly. I think it would take an insane amount of force to bend or break the knuckle guard on the handle.

I would def not be into this knife if it had poly handles.

That's one of those pieces that's all form over function. By that I mean you just love looking at it and touching it but you just really have no damn idea where or when you'd use it. Hahaha. I grabbed a pretty little cheapie kukri piece from a dealer near me just because it was so pretty. Never really used it but damn is it nice to fondle.

You got a pretty piece yourself there, comeandtakeit. Definitely wouldn't call it ugly. At least not to it's face, that thing looks badass! Haha. What's a knife collection without a few cheap lookers is what I say!

Not planning on trench warfare, but if I was still active duty this would prob replace my kabar in my E&E bag. Something to have and hope to never use just like any self defense tool or weapon you would own.

It's interesting that someone on active duty performing a role that would involve E&E, would carry single use extra weight in the escape and evasion kit that they carry with them 24/7....you'd think that light weight would be the key. Learn something new every day around here!

As for the knife, I'm glad it works for you, I hope when you get one, that you enjoy doing whatever you plan doing with it.

And I'm sure Cold Steel wont be able to make those thing fast enough. Sell like hotcakes at a fat guy convention.

That said, in my opinion, two thumbs up to Cold Steel again, for further promoting the idea that knife users are stab-happy. We need more of that, because right now the general public think we are sensible people who use our knives as tools.

In my opinion, that is the silliest piece of ninja-ry I've seen in a long time.

Cool trench knife. I do not like cold steel but its a free country and you can like who you chose.

There is no way I would buy a Bussee. This knife is for messing with while watching TV and has no real world meaning so why pay a lot of money for a fun nick nack. Fact is Bussee is to expensive in most all areas. I like Bussee and at a knife show I hung out at their table for a little while and messed with a bunch of their knives but most all of their knives I can find an equal to at a much better price. They produce a custom knife in a production setting yet charge custom prices.

I once had a set of brass nuckles, I walked up to a telephone pole and punched it hard. It cut then palm of my hand bad. Try it once and you will see what I mean.

Cool knife, have fun.

That's another good reason to use a Com-Tech Stinger. :)

Really?!? In what ways are these less expensive knives equal to the corresponding Busse? Let's look at just one aspect of the knives shown in this thread. What's the resale value of that Cold Steel? What's the resale value of that Busse?

And I'm sure that telephone pole was asking for it.

Neat looking knives, however they are a little too assault weapon for my taste. Is there anyplace that a civilian would be legal to carry one of those? Or are they more for collecting and home defense?

When I look at that knife I imagine myself in court, with some slick prosecutor asking me "What, specifically, is printed on the blade of the knife?"

"Uhhhhh......chaos?"

MAXIMUM SENTENCE

Cold steel is a great company with great products, but they don't make their blades in USA, so I don't buy them (anymore). My money stays on US soil.

True, add in the resale value and my comment changes but Busse is making a simple knife design and charging way more than others. I mean $450 bucks for a knife that I dont even know what the actual steel is compaired to its brother company SYKCOwho makes a knife equal in most all ways for only $160. There is not argument here.

The phone pole called my girlfriend easy. I admit I was her 4th date for the night but the pole just needed to learn some manors.

I must also add that if a person buys a Busse it is a very good thing because they make a great knife I am just cheap and look for a product that is equal to what I see that is high dollor and I buy the best lower dollor knife I can. I work for a living and cant affored 450 dollor knives to batton with.
