On topic, anyone can find a broken knife pic of just about any knife and start a thread which is exactly what knifechop did.
Well, a pic of a broken knife WITH the photographer saying that he was batoning.
I don't think this is the "knife's" fault for it being too thin for the type of torquing and twisting that can happen when you baton something. Given how far out the break is, I would wonder if the baton was being used on the spine closer to the handle, which would also contribute to twisting. Many of the chipped Schrade Extreme knives were also claimed to be happening during batoning, not chopping.
Thin blade section are going to be very sensitive to any kind of side load.
