Cold Steel Knives AK-47

Of the AK or an old school Recon 1? Unfortunately I didn't win the auction on it... Google image "Recon 1 ultra lock" or something like that.

I thought you might be after that one and was hoping you would get it.

Did they all have the black coated blade?

I'll let you know if I see one ;)

They all came black coated, yes. Also in clip point- never seen one of those for sale though. Haha thanks! An old one in a clip point plain edge is one of many "grail knives" of mine.

I thought the old Recon 1 with the ultra lock was only made with a black coated blade?
The one you were after had a plain blade?

The G10 ones had stainless liners, and they were TOUGH! At least the older Ultra-Lock models were, the new ones are all G10, no liners. They claim it is even stronger than the old model. Right. The aluminum Ultra-Locks are great too, have one of each of the old models, wouldn't get rid of them for the world. The G10 model with Ultra-Lock is in my opinion THE BEST EDC/carry/Survival folder Cold Steel ever made, maybe THE best from all makers. The weight is perfect, lock is strong, one-handed and safer than the TRID lock, where you have to put your fingers in the path of the blade when closing it. The Ultra-Lock models you don't, and you can open it by holding the lock back and slinging it open by centrifugal force-great when you can spare only one hand!

Agreed. I've found the AK47 to be my first choice for strength and durability in a edc. Like someone said "It fits my hand like a glove" I would like to find a
Recon 1 with the ultra lock made with a non-coated blade.

I would like to know how the handles were stripped?

The seller didn't know.

That knife was modified the aluminum models didn't have painted or two tone handles they were matte. It was a good knife but the handle while looking comfy really wasn't IMO. The ultra lock was not smooth at all at least on my example. The axis lock was superior in operation.
