Cold Steel Knives - Welcome

i have some cold steel pros ,my favorits are something made of 1055, very tough!

I love my 80's Carbon-V Trailmaster. My uncle gave it to me for my birthday and now it sleeps under my pillow with me a night!
 
Vintage Tanto owner here, the one that was advertised going through car doors on a tri-fold brochure in the mid 80's! I'm a Gold Member without my gold at the moment....just asked tech support why no Gold?

For the record, my name is David and I don't work at Cold Steel.
 
Im a fan of Cold Steel, I have 2 Recon 1's ( My favorite :thumbup:) And a Panga Machette.

+ 1 for CS who cares about your real name, presence and communication is far more important in a online forum.
 
Wow ... As if I needed confirmation as to why I lurk on this forum rather than post regularly. A representative from a major knife maker comes on board to be part of the community here, and almost immediately gets slagged by Internet bully boy tactics? There's a nice welcome. Don't like Cold Steel, don't visit this sub forum. Don't have something constructive to say, don't visit this sub forum. I've never been impressed by the computer keyboard Richards of the world, since they're always all talk, and no walk. I'll check back on occasion to see what CS is doing, as well as other mfgs, but the confrontational attitude that occurs around here on too many occasions is an embarrassment. :( Really disappointing.
 
I don't peruse BF too often, was pleasantly surprised to see y'all here now.

I have maybe 20 CS blades, plus several machetes, lately carrying the new model large Voyager clip point and keep an American Lawman in my pack. Have always felt many of your designs are among the best values in knifedom.

I have three of your knives at present. Old Vaquero Grande, Black Rhino and Large Espada. Very tempted to buy the XL Espada. Very! The price! WOW! ;-0
I've had a few others that I gave away as birthday presents in the past. Wish I had kept them as they are unobtainium now. ;-(
 
I was wondering why my favorite knife company wasn't on BF. Now that you guys are here, I just had to register and start posting.

I have a Cold Steel SRK with a Leather sheath and was wondering if at anytime this knife was made with the plastic type sheath? I love this knife for I've used it out fishing, hiking, and hunting (before I became dsabled). Any info would be of a great help.
 
Just ordered that XL Espada from Knife Center. Been wanting one forever. Got my taxes back, got me that huge knife. ;-)
Not the G-10 one either, the fancy one. May get a G-10 one later.

Nice! Congrats! I myself will be receiving my Medium Espada soon. If I get the XL, it'l be the G10 model once the stone washed versions are on the market.

I've already got a Large Espada, may get the medium one just to say I have all three. Buy one of them fancy stands to put them on, in front of my one sword.

That's a nice idea. I'll be EDCing my Espada. I would have already bought an XL were it not for silly weapons laws and hoplophobia.

AS regards silly weapons laws, how many times have you been searched for weapons? I live in Oklahoma, and even though the state has no limit, local jurisdictions can. Oklahoma City is 4 inches. I carry my Large Espada all the time, as well as several other large knives I have. Use them too, never been hassled over it. Of course I also always have a smaller knife, usually a Spyderco Military , in my left front pocket. For those sheeple moments.

I'll carry the XL Espada now-and-then, not all the time. Mostly when I know there will be safe opportunities to show it off to appreciative admirers of blades.

I've been asked by the Police to see a knife one time. In California, and it was some Benchmade automatic with a 4 inch + blade. Totally illegal. Cop handled it, fondled it, flicked it open several times, said "nice knife, probably better if you leave it at home", and gave it back to me. ;-)

I've been searched once, years ago. Long and unpleasant story. I'm not so much concerned about that as much as I am about telling Canadian police that the 7 1/2" bladed Espada XL that almost cut Mr. Mugger's arm clean off was exclusively carried with the intention of using it to cut apples and open boxes.
