Cold Steel products YOU want to see?

I would like to see more of their folding knives with the thumb stud. I absolutely love it on my CS Ak-47. Maybe offer some folders in a slightly more...high quality steel. I think Aus8 should replace that German 4116 and have another slightly better steel replace Aus8...Just try it on half of the folders maybe? In case it goes bad. Although...With all the people insisting Cold Steel find better steels...I don't see how it would...Just try it guys.

I think the people who are always insisting Cold Steel use "better steels" are people who are not actually using the knives. My most used knife is Krupp 4116 and it's awesome. I always have at least one AUS8A knife from Cold Steel on me, and I'm very happy with its performance.

here's what i would love to see.
a folding knuckle knife

but instead of a finger slicing fold over the finger guard types,
i was hoping something that either folds over from the back of the handle
or better yet,
a blade which drops from out-the-front.
here's to a tall order!

I agree with that but I carry an Ak-47 made by Cold Steel daily. :) I like aus8 I just want an upgrade and would like to see it from Cold Steel instead of going to someone else that's all. :D

Oh please, you're gonna seriously gonna try and argue that people who want better steel don't use their knives? Seriously? Sorry mate, but that sounds a bit too much like fanboyism right there, you're so determined to defend Cold Steel that you aren't even being rational. The people here use their knives all the time, much of these forums EDC knives in S30V, 154CM, or even higher steels, and DO use them. Me, I use my S30V Native plenty. It cuts just as well as AUS8, holds it's edge longer, resists rust better, and isn't significantly harder to sharpen. The disadvantage over AUS8? The price. But since a lot of people are willing to pay more for better steel, I don't think CS has anything to lose by making some options available in a better steel. Not saying get rid of AUS8, but what's to lose by at least offering a couple of choices with a higher end steel(doesn't have to be S30V) as well?

There's a reason for the saying "YMMV".

As for the "why not", I wouldn't mind seeing some folders in VG-1 or San Mai III.

They're on the right track with the O1 tool steel, I'd like to see them dabble with the 52100, also the simplistic Roach Belly fixed blade, would be more attractive in SK-5, and a traditional handle material like wood.

Yeah I go back and forth on the AUS8. San Mai is probably overkill for utility blades like the GI Tanto or Recon 1. VG1 or O1 would be great for higher end versions with satin or stone washed finish.

I would love to see a lawman version that was a hair bigger, thicker blade, aluminum liners, smooth contoured G10 handles. Heck I'd settle for grivory, a new pair of scales would be easy enough to make.

In terms of steel, what stainless (well stain resistant) steels would work in something like the Espada XL? Something like VG-10? I know it can take an incredibly sharp edge and is very corrosion resistant. I like the idea of a low carbide steel for the way it produces a smooth razor edge rather than the rather toothy one that I've heard high carbide steels do. Would it be tough enough for the role of a "fighting" knife?

I'm thinking that VG-10 would necessitate Japanese production though, so I can see why that would lead to cost increases and even in G10 form the Espada is not a cheap knife.

How about a recurve bow( Ben pearson style). Some sweet old school broadhead arrows.Extra heavy duty medical shears.

Another product I'd really like to see from CS is a new Trail Hawk with a longer cutting edge (about 3 1/2 to 4") and I'd like to see CS ditch retention screw and glossy black paint they have on their hawks.

I'd also like to see the Marauder bowie but with either a convex or full flat grind and made from O1 and a brass or steel guard and without the finger groove.

I'd also like for CS to ditch the black coating on the Recon Scout to match the Trail Master.

A warcraft Bowie or Clippoint CPM 3V

a voyager series in G10 with the same blade profiles...and a Carbon steel... or some super stainless steel :)

Voyager with G-10, carbon steel, I want to see them stab it through the hood of a car 100 times followed by some brutal nylon rope cutting followed by some wood chopping, then I want to see Lynn Thompson shave with it. Nah who am I kidding...

A larger version of the American Lawman:D. At least a 3.75 inch blade would be great.Oh,and leave off the black coating.

IIRC the Lawman used to have liners, now it does not.

Would like to see the return of the Bush Ranger. A super outdoors knife.

(Slaps his head) Damn, I remember those! Sounds good to me too. No top swedge/false edge and a wider choil for a choked-up grip to make it really outdoorsy.

The M-1909 USMC Bolo and the Bush Ranger; now a that's a twosome to take-on the world -

C'mon! I'm not the only one who thinks these would make a sweet pair right? Cold Steel make it happen!
