Here's an good idea for the new guy, search before posting.I bet this thread gets locked within an hour.
Here's a good idea for folks who've been around awhile... don't stomp on a new guy for asking an honest question. The search function here is not real great, frankly it blows hard, and you can't blame a fella for asking.
Giving the benefit of the doubt, I'll address a recurring theme -
Poster asks "What about this knife, why the heck is it so expensive, is it any good?"
I think these posts are a genuine attempt to discover info - and not using search says " I'm not internet/forum trained yet, help me out." A polite summary answer and link to how to search usually will do, and defuse the ones who really are trying to stir it up.
Thanks, you said it much better than I did. Not everyone is out to start a flame war, guys. Believe it or not, most folks don't give a rip about who's who, or who made what, or who they "stole" the design from, they just want a good knife at a fair price. Those of you that pounce on every "newbie" post for being a troll or pot-stirrer make me wonder about your own trollishness. Beleive it or not, some folks just want honest info before they make a $300 decision.
Really , I didn't want to ruffle anyone's feathers. I guess I could have asked my question better.
I think you asked your question in a very reasonable manner, don't let cliquey snobs BS or intimidate you. There are far more encouraging people around here, than there are paranoid jackasses.
I regret to say, I have no experience with either of those knives, so I can't offer an opinion. If you have the patience to wade through the personality cults that afflict CS and Strider (and other) knives, you can find solid information about them here. All I can offer is a caveat... if it sounds to good to be true, and costs a week's pay... well, you do the math. Have fun and keep your edges clean!
