Cold weather Q&A

I like the electric heated garments like my Milwaukee tool heated jacket that uses the drill batteries. I carry two batteries and it keeps me warm, I don't have to wear as much clothing making it easier to move around. I don't get cold anymore, by keeping the torso warm my extremities stay warm too. Now they need to make heated pants.

Yeah, gotta keep the core warm. But ask anyone who has had mild frostbite & they will tell you, that area gets cold quicker now than ever before. At least it sure does with me. If my feet, head & core is warm, many times i can go without gloves as long as temp is not too extreme. Today, i used the snowblower without gloves & did not have the elec grips on.

So, can we have someone with us to take action pics, if they are at a different site?

Sure, as long as they don't help you out. They can be in a pop up, as long as they don't assist.

The emergency blanket is the only blanket allowed correct? No sleeping bag? What about a tarp (im assuming not)? My plan (w/o giving too much away) is to bring the following...
-BK9
-BK13
-Emergency blanket
-Perculator (doubles as a pot and cup)
-Pocket fishing kit
-Firesteel
-One cotton ball
-ramen (and CRKT eatn tool)
-water
-glowstick
-flag
-phone and watch

I will carry it all in my rucksack and I will wear long underwear, jeans, boots, wool socks, fleece jacket with my carhart over it, carhart hat.

Is all of this acceptable? I would hate to do it and be disqualified for something.

If anyone gets out and puts forth an honest effort, I doubt anyone will be disqualified.

I wanted to do this tomorrow, but after 3hrs of pretty intense freerunning/parkour training today I won't be able to move tomorrow. I think I'll get my gear sorted tomorrow and post that, and do the overnighter next weekend.

Was debating this for this weekend with a buddy of mine. Then the weather forecast came out...

Sat 75/57
Sun 77/57

Pretty much eliminates the "cold weather" aspect!

Moose I'm thrilled for this contest!!!! It just gives me another excuse to get out into the woods :D I plan on going up around my parents cabin and last time I was up there about two weeks ago there was 4 feet of snow!!! (hopefully there's more now)
