Colorado vs Japan/Taiwan/China

My Tenacious and Persistence seem perfect. My grey PM2 has slight blade play that really used to annoy me. I like my grey PM2 much better in spite of that.

Considering none of them make the same knife it somewhat difficult to compare. If Golden, Taichung and Seki all made the identical knife with the same steel and handle material then it would be interesting to compare them. From my experience Taichung's knife come with less flaws but the reason behind that could be that they can afford to have more QC than Golden or Seki.

Definitely Taiwan first. Having owned a bucket of Spyderco knives the Taiwanese models have all come with perfect fit and finish. I think that because so many things are manufactured in Taiwan, and they re-invest in the manufacturing industry, the machinery over there is more up to date and can more easily produce consistent tight tolerances (Apple gets their computers made in Taiwan, RIP Steve..) The USA made knives are a pretty close second but the Japanese models I've bought lately have been consistently flawed in some way. Either way, Spyderco's value/quality is fair IMO.

I've handled knives from all 3 factories. I think the Colorado factory makes some great knives, but the consistency of the Taiwanese knives is almost scary - these guys can put together a blade.

That said I wouldn't hesitate to buy a knife from any of those factories.
