Combatchet Proto WIP

Frank,Thanks for your input in this design. You need to give me your contact info,So I know where to ship a Combatchet to.Thanks,Bro.

Here we go again.:DA suggestion was made to the effectiveness of the current pry bar location,That being said.He suggested it be on top of the head in line with the handle in case you are chopping & prying at the same time.Made sense to me.This may be a additional version to test.Without saw too.I extended the sheath to cover pry bar. Also deleted the open end wrench,I see no real need for it,Was used to show different options for the attachment uses.
I'm trying wire breaker on top also,My thinking is,Try to have your hands on the handle when using the various features, lessening the likelyhood of injury.I have the other drawing saved.

Just an idea, but the sheath could have a little pocket for the attachments, so that they are always with the hatchet, and, depending how they are attached, leave a wrench in the sheath for quick changing anywhere.

Mike,I'm still working the idea in my head,Hard kydex case that mounts to spine bar is what I'm thinking.I'll post some changes on the drawing shortly.

This a version without saw & head mounted pry bar,Pry bar & wire notch back on end of handle.

For attachment carry,Clamshell kydex hard case w/ hex tool.Snap closure.
Affixes to spine bar by outer spine fasteners.

Top head profile changed slightly.:D

Would that only carry one attachment? Next time I get lost in the woods, remind me to get your hatchet :P

yea the wire cutting notch again, sick of it yet?:barf:
i think it needs to be on either the left or right side (as drawn) of the prybar in order to get leverage on it and make it effective.
sorry to bug you on this again:p
peace

Mike,I aiming at being able to hopefully fit at least 4 attachments stacked in the carry box.I'm using mine on my camping trips.Don't get lost in the woods.:D

Josh,I know it is dizzing watching me move the wire notch all over,Rest assured,There is a method to my madness.;)Now I have 3 versions to test.:D

If you only have those five attachments, you could have the smallest one covered by the sheath if it is attached to the hatchet. Then, you would be able to keep all five attachments with you, even with traveling... But, that might make it much too bulky to carry around, instead of just like a suitcase for it :P

Putting the last touchs on the drawing,Adding traction notches on each side of handle. 3 versions to test.

I hope this design offers functional uses in a compact package,Much of the reason this design is becoming a reality is the insightful input & suggestions from forumites from various forums.A internet collaboration!;)Drawings are final. Now it's time to e-mail the drawings to David @ GLW.Waterjet, Here we come!BTW,5160 Differentially heattreat.Tough stuff.

I'm working on the Combatchet design to finalize it.I incorporated a seat belt cutter access slot on the underside of head sheath,Beard edge acts as cutter edge.

Added Chicago screws to fasten rig spine & swivel belt loop.

Refined the milled interface on attachment.

Enlarged the finger ring to1"

Relocated head sheath retention strap to facilitate the use of seat belt cutter.

Incorporated step box wrench w/ 5/16",1/4",3/16".

To offer carry options,I included swivel pry bar sheath from the Warlock fixed design.
