HAHAHA Sorry Daizee :D

except that I basically summarized the entire article for you before we actually read it.

I bet Dubz could take a photograph of a white/gold dress and color balance it to look blue/black in seconds. The fact remains that the lighting in the photo is utterly incorrect for reproducing color accurately in a picture, and the image was 'shopped.

The company that makes the dress DOES NOT make a white and gold version. I'll post the article if I can findnit again, but they absolutely do not make a white and gold version. They make blue and black, white and black, and pink and black, there was never gold lace on ANY dresses like that, even the white one.

Can I just point out... it's a dress. None of us (sans a select few) even wear them. If we want to talk about optical illusions there are MUCH better ones out there to talk about than this ugly dress.

Is she spinning left or right?

This is weird. The first time I saw it it was white/gold. Someone had posted the same thing on FB so I clicked the link and the first one I saw was washed out from the flash. Someone lowered the saturation on the same image and the white turned blue and the gold is black. Now I'm seeing blue/black on the first pics I saw that used to be white/gold, including the one in this thread.

And last night I saw brownish and blue-purple but today I see white and gold.

When I first saw it last night, without knowing what the story was, I thought it was a black woman wearing a bluish dress with see-thru panels, that the 'brown' I was seeing was her skin.

WEIRD.

There is an article on yahoo right now that has the dress story. It's blue and black irl. Brain games on Netflix has a great explanation of why.
Cbear that picture is crazy (or I am)! I can see here spinning both ways depending on when I look at her bottom foot. Until I look away and re-look at the right time I can't get her to switch while watching. Strange.

You failed to read my post or you failed to understand the implications. Back to reading comprehension class with you.
The article is reproduced in Wired, it's not hard to find.

I understood it completely, but your argument about Dubz being able to photoshop it isn't even relevant. Of course he could but he didn't.

Down below all the tweet and celebrity junk, there are pictures of the real dresses.

As for the spinning woman, right.

You did. You're still WRONG! :D

I think it's more than a few here.

I could never get that gif to spin the other way at will. I can normally see the other side of optical illusions at will, but not that one. Spinning left.

Personally, I just think the dress is ugly.......................no matter the color. I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing.

That's where I'm at on the issue. And it's only ever looked blue and black to me.

Nice sig, Dubz! Not sure how long you've had it, but good work.

Failure x2.
The entirely point of my post was that the actual original color of the fabric isn't the primary issue.
And thank you for reminding me of the futility of arguing with children.

Oh dear. I seem to have angered someone.

And no problem. :)

YES. First time I looked at it, she was spinning to the right. Then I read a few replies, went back to reply and then she was spinning left. Went out, came back in, spinning right. Then she's spinning left again after I scroll down, then up.

I think gubmint is messing with internet.:D

Whoa now Daiz, no need to get flustered. We are all just having some fun in the snark thread!!!

We are all wrong sometimes... Today is just your day :p
