Let's do some more optical illusions.

Anything wrong with this?

Duck or rabbit?

Two old people or?

I don't see anything wrong...

Both.

It took me a second but I saw the other thing.

Dumped some gas in Sharona and put in a new battery but I'm not surprised it still won't start. Gonna have it towed over to the mechanic this afternoon. I can't drive it in this weather anyway. Snowed about 6" last night.

The word "The" is on there twice.

Both.

Old people and a couple Mexican chilling playing some music and getting drunk.

And now for something completely different...

Gloom, despair, and agony on me
Deep, dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, despair, and agony on me

Having serious foundation repair work done. 28 piers through the middle of our 35yr old ranch style home. Since they have to tear up the floors in so many places we decided to have nearly all of the deteriorating wood floors and old carpet torn up and start over. We've literally packed up and moved just about everything out of the house. (Do you know how much crap you can accumulate living in the same place for over 20 years?) They came today to tear up the floors and will finish tomorrow. Foundation guys come Wednesday. Then new floors. Then partial move back in. Then wait 30-60 days and start repairing all the drywall damage throughout the house and repaint everything. What a pain in the a**...and real cheap too.:grumpy:

Top it all off, truck's been running bad for couple months. Had it in and out of the shop 4 times. Blown head gasket. '02 Dodge Ram with 200K miles on her. Repairs are going to cost what she's worth.:mad:

Lot of people my age think about retiring. Hell, I'll probably work til I'm 80 or something.:(

In the good news column, yesterday I received another BK5 that I bought from a forum member and pretty soon I'll be receiving a BK11 leather sheath, some scales and a parkerized BK4 from Tate to go along with my Cincinnati 4. I guess it all balances out in the end.:D

So put the amount it will take to fix the old one into a "newer" one that runs and part out the old one. Each unbent door, hood, tailgate, bed body are worth more than scrap value.

I had an old 1976 Dodge that was plumb wore out but the body was in good shape. The "auto-recycler" offered me $250. I ended up selling each door for $200, the tail gate and bed body for $400 and the hood for $275 to guys who were repairing similar trucks that ran but had body damage. I got $100 each for the transmission (needed work), front windshield/rear window. I sold the engine for $100 to a guy who wanted to rebuild a 318 for his own truck that had no engine. Miscellaneous items brought in another $200 or so. (Bench seat, headlights, steering wheel, master brake cylinder, etc). When it was all over, I sold the carcass to the scrap dealer for $4.50/100# for about $45 (had a bunch of other scrap thrown on the trailer, so I don't know what the carcass weighed.)

No no no, I'm a child. Obviously I'm the one who's wrong. :D ;)

I don't give the contents of your diaper who is wrong or right about the actual colors of that dress in that poorly taken and poorly color balanced photograph. I stopped debating the actual colors pages ago, but you can't seem to figure that out.

Yes, you have irritated me because you are irritating, largely by attempting peer-level familiarity with adults while entirely (possibly intentionally) missing the point. Perhaps you think you are merely being cheeky, but from a child it translates as exceedingly poor manners. This is quite common around here with minors, where in-person social feedback mechanisms are somewhat lacking.

Good thought...how'd you find your buyers? I've got no 'motorhead' network. Craigslist?

Got my slip sheath in for the LM Squirt:

Nothing spectacular, but photos are always nice:

Turns out my pickup had a bad ignition control module, very minor deal. I'm having the mechanic check a couple unrelated issues I was having before it broke down. I'll probably have it back today.

Dude with the Mercury Cougar I was interested never got back to me. The add was over a week old when I saw it so no surprise someone else bought it first.

Out of curiosity, what is the point of the sheath for the leatherman? Asking out of ignorance of course. It looks nice.

Just keeps the anodizing from getting scuffed/chipped. Not really necessary, but I'm a picky old bastard.

Not trying to be cheeky, rude, or whatever else you can come up with, but you're certainly not helping the status of my respect for you by acting like a holier-than-thou smart aleck who can't find anything else to do than argue with a child using diaper "insults". :) That said, you make some nice looking knives.

Have a nice day.

Speaking from a child's point if view, I can see where noswad is coming from, very few places, especially in this "hobby" for lack of a better term, treat children like they know what they are talking about. So when we get to a community like this, where in many ways we are treated like equals, it's easy to get comfortable, but unfortuantly, I have found that many things the that we find common place and acceptable do infact come across as annoying 9 times out of 10, especially with you old curmudgeons :D
So I see your point as well daize, my general rule of thumb is if you act like an adult, you will be treated like an adult. When you get to a certain age a lot of the things we do stop becoming funny, and "cute and start becoming stupid annoying crap. I like to think that I come across as a contributing member of this community instead of an annoying kid that gets on people's nerves. That's just my two cents

And I'm not talking about just you noswad, I just used this instance as an example. I've have done and said some pretty stupid things on this forum, as I'm sure most of you have as well

This is why he's calling you a child. more times than not, it's better to back out and stop arguing for arguments sake, and stop acting like a smartaleck.

Exactly this. I was in no way shape or form trying to be annoying.

If I've bothered or annoyed you, Daiz, I'm sorry, but I've learned by now that if someone on the internet wishes to take something I said the wrong way, I don't give the contents of my incredibly smelly diaper one way or another. I hope you won't hold whatever it is that I did against me.

I don't intend to after this which is why I put the little 'peace offering' at the end for whatever it's worth.
