Pretty cool Dubz. How long did that take you to do?

Got some more fishing in yesterday. They are starting to o get pretty aggressive. Its getting closer to spring and spawning, so they should really start biting soon. Gonna do a lot more fishing in the next few weeks. Extended forecast for here shows quite a bit of a warm up. Supposed to hit the 40's in a few weeks. Gonna do some getting while the getting is good.

i would strongly consider the Hennessey new models with the zipper and improved storage system and Hex fly. they're completes...

most of the other ones, typically, are sold as pieces parts, afaik. which makes them more modular in a way, but more random too.

been rocking them for 15 years or more...

I love my Hennessey Survivor. I just wish I'd have been able to get a side entry with a zipper though.

Yeah, but that bottom pocket is like going through the birth process every time you enter/exit.

That bottom entry was a deal killer for me.(hammocks people c'mon now) Plus I don't want it to be a one piece with the bug net in case I just want to pull it out and use it as a chair.
Hennessey and Warbonnet both look great but neither offer "every" option I want.

Thanks. Probably around 10 minutes.

I am not sure if this is what you mean but you can use a Warbonnet as a "chair". Allyou have to do is fully unzip the entry and roll your bug net back, there are even ties to tie it down nice and neat. The ridgeline can be in the way a bit but not when you are sitting. Just getting in and out. With your weight off the hammock the ridgeline is easily pushed out of the way since it isn't as taut without your body weight.

PS: I love my Warbonnet

No sense gettin' bit in the mini-worm!

;)

.....'sides, it ain't the length, it's the girth. Leastways that's what I keep tellin' myself. I don't reach bottom, but I sure bang the hell outta the sides.....IIRC. Been a loooooong time.

Getting a bit is all about the style of fishing :D

I've also started to mark the calendar on the days I get lucky. My wife was arguing with me the other day that we have some fun about twice a week. I showed her January where there was only two happy faces on the calendar. We are now working at upping that number every month :D

Well s%&t! Yeah, that's exactly what I was talking about. I assumed they would be in the way. Good to know, thank you. Back to the drawing board.

On my Eno, at least, I've just flipped the bug netting over to the bottom and sat on the top like a chair.

This is going to be a work in progress as I have never even sat in a hammock before. Good to know that either way they can be used as chairs. I like the fact that the warbonnet can come apart. Hmmm
So right now I'm looking at:
Warbonnet xlc double layer (not sure if I want multicam but probably)
Atlas straps
Hennesey Hex or Bushcraft outfitters 10x12 tarp
I have a sleeping pad from the tent and bag as well.
Other than some stakes and cordage I should be g2g right?

I am not sure I would go with a 10x12 tarp. I use a bushcraft outfitters 10x10 simply because I can set it up two ways very easily. I am not an expert by any means and I like to use the K.I.S.S. method of doing things.

With that being said I use my tarp in the regular A-frame setup and the corner to corner or diamond setup. Easy to do with a square, but harder to do with a rectangle. Also with the added length to the tarp depending on how you fly it you might need more spacing between the trees you are using.

Here are some pictures of the setups I like to use with my square tarp.

I also use this setup for the guylines for my tarp. A loop of shock cord, 6 feet of guyline with loops at both ends connected by a smaller cord with a prussic knot. This allows me to easily swap between setups and gives me enough adjustability for uneven ground.

I went with the 10x12 just because I might not always be solo. I'm sure my son would love to "hang" out as well sometimes.

Been using a bottom entry Hennessy since they first came out. Finally replaced my original a couple of years ago when Kay got tired of sewing the bug netting up on trips. The lack of zipper means no snagged zipper when exiting drunk and pee-filled. I use reflectix instead of an underquilt in cold weather. I do love all the cool setups I've seen with the ENOs. My son loves his Warbonnet. Main thing is to get out there and hang.

In that case it makes perfect sense.

When you get everything all together we need pictures!

I'm still trying to figure out why you're completely exiting when drunk and have to pee if you have a bottom entry? Why not just roll over and split the middle?
