Comfort knife?

It may sound stupid but I just have to ask. Does a certain pattern or style of a knife just comforts you? I mean, when u carry a certain knife it just makes you feel complete. Since being around this forum I've learned many different things from the fine folks that frequent this form. For about six months I've dropped my usual yellow case trapper to try new patterns. I tried the peanut, great in the pocket but not so good of a work knife. I've tried every pattern under the sun but something was missing. So tonight I went out the door to check on a cow and slipped my trusty cv yellow trapper in my pocket and just felt complete. So what's ur comfort knife?

I find comfort in the comfortable Sod Buster frame, and the small Sway Backs. I also like the Case Mini Trapper, and CV Copperlocks(small, and large) alot. I like others, but I guess those are my favorites.

3-4 inch fixed blades, especially drop points. Doesn't matter who made them or out of what, I just love em and feel good with one on my belt.

I'd have to second the Sod Buster frames. My GEC is in toat a good 75% of the time these day's. I get a similar vibe from my 85's as well.

Stockman knives. Specifically, Case, Buck and Queen Large Stockman.

Me, too. Over the years had a few stockman/cattleman patterns, and that one just hits the sweet spot. For work I like the large ones, for play I like the medium sized.

A good second would be a nice copperhead (I have an almost 40 year old 4" or so CASE Copperhead I bought new that is in the rotation) or a Barlow.

Yup. I've sold and traded quite a few of my old Stockman patterns, but I still have several well-used Serpentine patterns that are my "worry stones" around the house here.

Two are old U.S. Schrades. Both have been worn worn smooth over the years; they feel like silk.

First is an old 34OT I got that had all three blades damaged & rusted shut. Two were converted to Sheepfoot types, the spay was made into a screwdriver. Lower left in the pic. Second is an old 77OT that had both blades damaged. I converted both to semi-Wharncliffe/sheepfoot types. Lower right in the pic.

Another is an old Case 6.5375 Bone-Stag Stockman CV that I mod'd several years ago to make it more pocketable.

I discovered this over the weekend when we were helping our Cub Scouts with their Pinewood Derby. When I was a Cub leader I never went anywhere without a multi-layer SAK in a pouch on my belt. I always needed some tool or other for light duty and my SwissChamp or other multi tool knives I have did the trick. I stopped carrying one all the time when I was doing consulting work, too many places where I couldn't have a knife.

Over the weekend I put my Huntsman on my belt and I felt complete  so for weekends at least, the SAK will be back!

Swell End single blades or single spring define my comfort zone nicely. Don't exclude others mind, always room for variety.

Not sure I really have one. It would probably be a full sized Trapper if I had to pick. I know lots of folks like the smaller blades, but to me it's easier to cut an apple with a 3"+ blade than a 2.5" or less blade. I always have to cut my apples to eat them. :o

Mine would be a sak. I always have one on me. One that I am very fond of but don't carry all the time anymore is the full sized trapper pattern. I keep coming back to them.

Well my current one is a small multitool so not really appropriate for this subforum. However, I am slowly accumulating some nice Case slipjoints so that may change in the future.

My "current" comfort knife is my AGR Wharncliffe sowbelly. If it's not in my back pocket I feel like I'm missing something. It's quite a handful.
