The hat's old enough to be his. Late 1800's fur felt and made in Portland, Maine. Nothing like supporting an industry over a hundred years too late. :D

Right on, Dude! Whereabouts in the AK sticks are you?

I sat in a bar in Wasilla and listened to Matt Hopper in summer '10. Have you heard him? He's pretty good. He's from AK, but lives down in Boise now. I think he plays up there a fair amount though.
 
Good eye. That was taken back in the days when I worked long hours at a small local knife shop. Had my hands in and out of cases all day every day so nicks happened once in a great while. It was always embarrassing. :p

This is not the shoot out I thought it was going to be ;)

On a side note I just received a GB Felling Axe, the top of the blade was at 12 O'clock and the bottom of the blade was twisted to the 5 O'clock position.
It's going back, good news the replacement is already on the way.
Waiting on a John Neeman :)

thanks memphis... i love him... hes my kinda guy... i have had a few chances to see him... didnt work out... next time though;)
i have heard most of his stuff... with friends and good times:D

The GB I have is on shorter handle - 32 I think - I will have to remeasure. It feels good and looks good. The BD is of course 36 in handle.

I will do felling, bucking, splitting, and misc tasks, and yes that means I will beat the shat out of the poll to see what happens. I have some metal pipe that needs pounded into the ground for stakes around my fruit trees - that should work well.

See what happens.

Let the beard growing commence. I will have to shave my goat off though to get stuff evened up. When I grow a beard I look like the Nicholson from The Shining - right before he loses it.
